From 2006 to 2022, Mr. Fadenrecht served as an engineering spatial integration and visualization manager for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett Washington. During this period, he created the Visualization Center of Excellence (VICE), assembling a cross-functional team from research and development, engineering, and information technology to develop software and analytical tools that enabled engineering and production personnel to visually interpret complex requirements for airplane design, construction and integration. Mr. Fadenrecht later retired from the Boeing company, but continues to support mentoring current engineers and business leaders in the holistic approaches to concept and strategy development.
Before being acquired by Boeing, Mr. Fadenrecht worked as a technical consultant at Newark Electronics from 1987 to 1988 and as a lead systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems between 1985 and 1987. At Electronic Data Systems, he played a key role in implementing advanced technologies for General Motors during a period of intense competition with Japanese automakers who were utilizing Kaizen techniques for rapid product development. Mr. Fadenrecht's academic credentials have been instrumental in shaping his career trajectory. Jack's main predicament is determining the changes needed to be put in place to save the business from failure while balancing and honoring the company's traditions.
Recognized for his ability to foster collaboration among diverse teams and drive excellence by leveraging individual strengths, Mr. Fadenrecht's most notable achievements have included the development and implementation of an integration visualization tool that was recognized at Info Week Activities in Las Vegas in 2014 as one of the top 10 software developments globally. This tool allowed simultaneous visualization and management of three to five million airplane design parts, facilitating their movement through digital space for optimal configuration. Earlier, in 2008, Mr. Fadenrecht led the creation of the universal configurator, which reduced airplane configuration time from over 10 months to just 15 minutes. This innovation had the potential to save Boeing approximately $200 million annually if applied organization-wide.
Mr. Fadenrecht's contributions have been recognized with several honors, such as the Technical Replication Award from Boeing in 2015. He attributes his success to his keen ability to identify individual talent within teams and empower individuals to utilize their strengths toward achieving organizational excellence.
