As the accounting deputy controller and senior vice president, she oversees the financial, managerial, and regulatory reporting for the bank, its subsidiaries, data processing center, and limited partnership structures. She directs the bank's accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, establishing robust internal controls, and delivering insights that inform strategic decision-making. Her leadership extends to supervising a 17-member team, including staff across several departments to include accounting, accounts payable, central travel desk, and accounting information systems. She plays an active role in the presentation of financial reports for the data processing center and limited partnerships, oversees the financial reporting for a foundation dedicated to financial literacy, and participates in the Asset-Liability Committee meetings. She also works closely with external auditors and regulators throughout the year, while contributing accounting expertise to new organizational initiatives.

Ms. Guzman's career is characterized by her dedication to professional development and industry engagement. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is one of only three Certified Public Accountants (CPA) at First National Bank Texas—an achievement that highlights her commitment to excellence and leadership within the institution.

Ms. Guzman's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Sam Houston State University in 1998. She later pursued an Executive Master of Business Administration in banking and financial support services from the same institution, graduating in 2024. These educational achievements have been instrumental in her career progression, providing her with a strong foundation in finance and banking that has supported her rise to senior leadership roles.

Ms. Guzman's success is also attributed to her robust support system, comprising of family and friends who have been a source of encouragement during challenging times and have been there to celebrate those accomplishments and personal wins . This "village" has played a crucial role in maintaining her positivity and well-being, allowing her to excel professionally while raising her son, Alexander Lucas.

In recognition of her potential for executive leadership, Ms. Guzman received the SWBC Foundation Award from the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2024. This accolade was made possible through the nomination by her professor, Jill Vaughn, the Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking at Sam Houston State University, who highlighted Ms. Guzman's dedication to advancing her career while balancing personal responsibilities.

With aspirations of becoming a chief financial officer, Ms. Guzman continues to expand her leadership skills through mentorship with her bank's current CFO. She is closely aligned with the bank's long-term strategic goals, including significant asset growth. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys TaeKwonDo and boxing, which reinforce her discipline and focus both personally and professionally.
