Mr. Mendez has cultivated a distinguished career in the engineering and sales sectors, marked by a diverse skill set that spans engineering, operations, management, marketing and sales. His current role as a sales engineer at ITT Goulds Pumps in Houston, where he has been employed since 2023, involves meeting with customers, ensuring their orders are processed correctly, following up on sales and developing new business opportunities. This position marks the latest milestone in a tenured professional journey spanning over 15 years, showcasing his well-rounded expertise.

Before being acquired by ITT Goulds Pumps, Mr. Mendez served as the global aftermarket product line manager at Sundyne in Arvada, Colorado, from 2021 to 2023. In this capacity, he honed his engineering management skills on the aftermarket product development team, thus solidifying his reputation as an expert in these areas. Mr. Mendez worked with several different Sundyne product lines spanning the globe to collaborate on many successful Sundyne aftermarket product offerings. Mr. Mendez's tenure at Sundyne was preceded by his role as an account manager at Hydro Inc., based in La Porte, between 2019 and 2021, where he was responsible for managing client relationships.

Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Mendez worked as an end-user sales engineer at Ruhrpumpen Global. This position spanned from 2017 to 2019. Previously, Mr. Mendez served as a shop superintendent at HydroTex Inc., starting in 2016, where he oversaw operations and ensured end user requirements were fulfilled with every pump repair/upgrade. His career also included roles as an engineering specialist and upgrades engineer at Goulds Pump /ITT Inc. in Stafford, Texas, between 2010 and 2016. During this initial tour with Goulds Pumps is where Mr. Mendez's pump knowledge foundation was built with regards to aftermarket pump engineering and pump repair processes. His planning skill set came from being a production coordinator at Solar Turbines Inc. in Houston, dating back to 2009.

In addition to his civilian career, Mr. Mendez dedicated over 13 years to the Army National Guard. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of drive and motivation, qualities that have been instrumental in his professional success. Mr. Mendez attributes much of his work ethic and determination to the skills he acquired during his time in the military. While serving, military awards were given to SGT Mendez such as "Engineering Trailblazer," Most Outstanding Soldier 12/2005 Hotel and Commander's Inspection Award.

Mr. Mendez holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Texas State University in 2011. In light of his success, he was recognized with a Leadership Award while at Texas State. He also holds a Master of Science in engineering management from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, in 2015. These academic achievements have been pivotal in shaping his career path and enabling him to excel in various roles within the industry.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Mendez is actively involved with civic-minded organizations, such as Wounded Warriors. Looking ahead, Mr. Mendez envisions advancing to a management position while pursuing a second master's degree focusing on finance. He believes that combining this new academic pursuit with his background in engineering management will further enhance his career and opportunities.
