In October 2025, he will assume the role of head of technology development at Applied Materials, following an internal promotion that recognizes his significant contributions to process engineering and technology advancement within the organization. From 2023 to 2025, Mr. Yang was the director of process engineering at Applied Materials, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of new physical vapor deposition products for copper barrier and seed applications across global technology nodes, including those for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Intel and Samsung Electronics.

Employed by ASM previously, Mr. Yang was a senior manager for key account technology in 2023, where he led metal thermal atomic layer deposition process development in support of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's advanced nodes. From 2022 to 2023, he was a senior manager of regional process support engineering east at ASM in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Between 2018 and 2019, Mr. Yang served as director of process and application engineering at Wonik IPS Co. Ltd. in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. He played a pivotal role in expanding the company's presence in the Taiwan market through technical presentations and customer demonstrations, particularly with leading research and development groups at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Winbond.

In 2018, Mr. Yang was a senior manager at Yangtze Memory Technologies in Wuhan, China, where he contributed to the company's growth in memory device manufacturing technologies. Earlier, from 2016 to 2018, he led Wavetek Microelectronics Corporation as the division head. Among other key roles, Mr. Yang was a technical manager at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company from 2014 to 2016. His foundational success took place at Applied Materials in Santa Clara, California, starting in 2002 and spanning more than a decade, with positions such as product development engineer, key account technologist and business manager.

Mr. Yang's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and information engineering from National Taiwan University in 1997 and a Master of Science in electrical engineering and computer science from Cornell University in 2001. These academic achievements have been instrumental to his success as an innovator and leader within the semiconductor sector.

Throughout his career, Mr. Yang has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in physical vapor deposition and product development. His commitment to advancing knowledge is reflected through authorship, having published 'Off-Angular Deposition Compensation for PVD Selective Re-sputtering Process' in MRS Proceedings in 2008, a work that highlights his technical acumen. Mr. Yang is also credited with several patents that underscore his inventive capabilities.
