His responsibilities include reviewing designs, gathering requirements, presenting project updates, collaborating with development teams, communicating with senior leadership and overseeing implementations of ServiceNow software.
In addition to his ongoing role at DTH IT, Mr. Hooker served as a principal solution architect at ServiceNow in 2022. During this time, he provided strategic architectural guidance and contributed to the development of innovative solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Earlier in his journey, Mr. Hooker was a service manager at Verizon from 2012 to 2013, during which he managed service delivery operations and ensured high-quality support for enterprise customers. He was also a client executive at Verizon Business from 2011 to 2012, where he built and maintained key relationships and accelerated business growth.
Mr. Hooker's experience includes serving as an information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) program manager at Sandisk from 2010 to 2011, where he oversaw process improvement initiatives and implemented best practices in IT service management. He initially joined the company as an incident and change manager from 2009 to 2010.
At American President Lines (APL) — a leading maritime transportation and logistics firm — Mr. Hooker held several roles over nearly a decade. He was the IT global operations lead from 2008 to 2009, managing worldwide information technology operations, analyzing severity incidents and ensuring seamless service delivery. His certifications have greatly contributed to his reputation as an expert in ServiceNow software.
Along with his education, Mr. Hooker attributes his accomplishments to technical knowledge as well as a deep understanding of business processes — a perspective shaped early in his career by working for a company that prioritized process clarity ahead of technology adoption. His passion for technology began during his high school years when he participated in the Upward Bound college preparatory program in Oakland, California. Tasked with setting up a new computer lab with donated MacBook devices, he discovered an enduring enthusiasm for computers that guided his scholastic pursuits and professional trajectory.
Among Mr. Hooker's most significant achievements is being recognized as a ServiceNow MVP in 2023 and 2024 — a prestigious honor awarded within a global community of peers for outstanding contributions to the field. This accolade is especially meaningful given its international scope and peer-driven nature. Deeply committed to mentoring others, he hosts a developer meetup in Charlotte and offers free sessions for aspiring developers on platforms such as LinkedIn. Mr. Hooker's civic engagement extends beyond professional circles through active involvement with organizations like 100 Black Men of America, which strives to educate and empower children and teenagers for long-term success. Born and raised in Oakland, he takes pride in his hometown roots and credits much of his success to having strong mentorship throughout his life and unwavering support from his parents, especially his mother.
Happily married and a proud father of two, Mr. Hooker enjoys traveling with his family, experiencing different cultures and cuisines, engaging in outdoor adventures and attending his children's extracurricular activities. With the belief that education and growth are part of a lifelong journey, he values learning about the customs and traditions of others while exploring nature or driving through nearby states.
