Since 2021, Mr. Young has served as the owner and chief executive officer of Kevin Young Consulting LLC. His consulting practice encompasses technical accounting projects, system implementation assistance, and interim chief financial officer / controller / financial reporting director responsibilities. Clients regularly seek Mr. Young's expertise for assistance with challenging issues or projects requiring seasoned insight.

As part of his daily responsibilities, Mr. Young remains available and responsive to client needs, collaborating on individual projects with both his team members and those of his clients. He has served as interim chief financial officer for a local nonprofit organization, focusing on financial reporting and advising management on strategic financial issues such as fundraising and securing loans for construction projects. Additionally, Mr. Young provides financial reporting and consulting services to larger for-profit companies, including writing accounting technical memoranda and managing acquisition-related work from both accounting and reporting perspectives.

Mr. Young began his career at Price Waterhouse & Co. (now PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)) in 1983 after graduating from Adrian College. He joined the Toledo, Ohio, office that year and remained there for over five years before relocating to Miami. In 1993, he moved to New York City, where he was promoted to audit partner in 1996.

From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Young led PwC's China financial services practice based in Beijing. During this time, he worked closely with state-owned Chinese banks as well as several large private banks that were preparing to enter the market economy. He focused on capital raising initiatives and introduced international principles related to credit risk management and financial reporting. Mr. Young's efforts contributed to the evolution of these institutions into some of the world's largest banks by deposit size and assets. He also played a pivotal role in building local staff capabilities and educating teams on international standards. Many individuals he mentored have since advanced to partner roles within the Firm.

After returning to the US, Mr. Young became a leader in the Firm's South Florida Practice, where he served as Market Team Leader of the Financial Services Division of the local practice from 2011-2014, overseeing the continued development of the Firm's local practice and leading a team of over 150 professionals in the financial services industry across the state. During his two decades in South Florida, Mr. Young continued serving as audit and assurance partner for numerous national and international financial institutions, finance cooperatives, regional banks and private finance companies throughout the country. He also served as the Leader of the Firm's Banking and Capital Markets Training and Education Initiative, responsible for providing and development training programs hundreds of the Firm's financial services professionals.

Throughout his tenure at PwC, Mr. Young specialized primarily in audit insurance for financial institutions on an international scale. His ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients worldwide made for an engaging work environment that further honed his leadership capabilities.

Mr. Young's academic foundation was established at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1983. He subsequently earned numerous professional credentials, which have allowed him to remain active across various roles within accounting and finance. He is recognized as a certified public accountant in Ohio, Florida, and New York, and holds directorship certification from the National Association of Corporate Directors.

In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Young serves on the board of directors and chair of the audit committee of a private agribusiness finance company. Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Young has demonstrated civic commitment through service as a Board of Trustees and Audit Committee Chair of Adrian College, and on the Board of Trustees of the Phi Kappa Sigma Educational Fund. He has also been active in various roles with organizations like the Junior Achievement of South Florida and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Mr. Young's professional accomplishments have been recognized with several awards, including as one of the Power Leaders in Banking by South Florida Business Journals in 2013 and 2014. He is also an accomplished guitarist and songwriter, with one of his songs reaching Top 50 status on the Billboard charts in 2007 and 2008. Attributing his enduring success to hard work, Mr. Young's lessons learned about effort, commitment and perseverance have guided him throughout his career. Looking ahead, he intends to continue consulting work, which allows greater flexibility, while dedicating more time to music pursuits.
