NEWPORT BEACH, CA, October 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Viivi Avellan has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Avellan has built a distinguished career as an international business consultant, specializing in supporting market expansion and strengthening cross-cultural collaboration. As co-founder and chief executive officer of ViiLee Solutions since 2022, she has guided European enterprises and public sector organizations in expanding their operations and conducting market research, particularly in California and other global markets.
In recent years, while based in the United States, Ms. Avellan has overseen programs for European business delegations, developed marketing strategies for companies entering the California market, produced book and film launches for her clients, and facilitated soft-landing services and workshops. She is recognized for her ability to serve as a natural bridge between the business environments of Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges to these efforts, as interest from Europe to Southeast Asia declined. Ms. Avellan observed increased apprehension among potential visitors and a shift in business connections toward the United States. During this period, her collaboration with a colleague—who would later become her business partner—proved instrumental. With her extensive network in Europe and her partner's growing interests in California, Ms. Avellan relocated to the United States to further develop their business initiatives.
In addition to her leadership at ViiLee Solutions, Ms. Avellan has served as marketing director at Conduit Group since 2024, where she continues to drive client engagement and strategic growth. She was also country coordinator for Miltton Events from 2022 to 2023, overseeing event management and stakeholder relations. Ms. Avellan began her consulting career following her promotion from chief operating officer (2019–2020) to country manager of Innovation Home in Singapore, a role she held from 2020 to 2023. In this capacity, she facilitated innovation-driven initiatives and supported entrepreneurial ventures, laying the foundation for her subsequent international consulting success.
Ms. Avellan's entrepreneurial spirit is evident through her co-founding of Nordic Glow Pte. Ltd. Singapore from 2018 to 2022, where she imported and sold Nordic natural products in Singapore. She was also a shareholder at F45 Training from 2019 to 2020 and Bizmind from 2016 to 2020, contributing to business development and strategic planning.
Her career began in media as a journalist at Nordisk Film TV from 1999 to 2001 before advancing to news anchor and producer roles at Nelonen from 2002 to 2004 and MTV from 2005 to 2007. Notably, during her time as a reporter and news anchor, Ms. Avellan was recognized as one of the highest-paid individuals in her field—a distinction that surprised her—and was among the most liked personalities due to strong audience support.
In 2003, Ms. Avellan established her first company, Awell Entertainment Ltd., in Finland, marking the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey. Through this venture, she distinguished herself as both a journalist and publisher, producing content that resonated with diverse audiences while also providing consulting services for luxury-level event productions in Finland. Over the years, she further expanded her literary portfolio by publishing several books, ranging from women's lifestyle guides to children's sports titles. Complementing these accomplishments, she served as editor-in-chief of FORE! Golf Magazine at Krook-Media Oy from 2012 to 2016 and contributed to ELIXIR CMS Oy in 2013
Ms. Avellan's commitment to promoting inclusivity is exemplified by the golf tournament she created together with her team in Finland during her tenure as editor-in-chief of FORE! Magazine. Designed as an easy and approachable way for newcomers to experience playing on an actual course rather than limiting themselves to practice areas, the tournament successfully attracted participants aged 18 to 80 and introduced many new players to the sport. Still active in Finland today, this initiative stands among her proudest achievements and reflects her dedication to broadening access and appreciation for golf within Finnish society.
Ms. Avellan's professional affiliations include board membership with The Finnish Business Council in Singapore and Finnish Business Women in Singapore. She is also an active member of The Finnish Management Consultants Association, MIA - Mission Impact Academy, Newport Beach Tennis Club and HanGolf.
Her academic background includes earning a bachelor's degree, a foundation that has supported her multifaceted career trajectory. In recognition of her consulting expertise, Ms. Avellan obtained the certified management consultant credential from CMC Global, The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes in 2024.
Ms. Avellan's early entry into journalism at age 21 set the stage for rapid advancement; appointed as a news producer at just 25, she gained invaluable experience in daily television news, building strong resilience and the ability to thrive under pressure. At 29, she chose to transition from the hectic newsroom environment to the artistic sector, relocating to Switzerland to continue her career in a new professional direction. In Switzerland, she represented Finnish pop artists and managed showroom sales operations in Zurich before returning to Finland as editor-in-chief of a golf magazine, a role well-suited given her experience playing golf at the national level during her youth.
Her move to Singapore was prompted by her husband's career; after briefly stepping away from professional pursuits, Ms. Avellan founded a company selling Nordic natural products before returning to consulting work focused on helping businesses expand into Singapore. Her services were sought by Finnish government agencies and the Estonian Foreign Ministry, a testament to her reputation for excellence.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Avellan is civically engaged with organizations such as the Red Cross of Singapore, Pelastakaa Lapset Finland and Kummit Finland. She has contributed editorial leadership as editor-in-chief of Golf Magazine in Finland.
Born in Finland, Ms. Avellan enjoys golf, tennis, and hiking—pursuits that mirror her passion for sportsmanship and holistic wellness, with a special appreciation for the restorative traditions of the Finnish sauna. Looking ahead, she aims to serve as a key representative for major European organizations in the United States while facilitating American business expansion into Europe through her extensive network and cross-cultural expertise. Her deep understanding of both Asian and Western cultures positions her uniquely as a connector between global markets, a role she continues to embrace with vision and dedication.
