HOUSTON, TX, October 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly S. Wilkinson has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by her leadership, innovation and commitment to advancing patient care, Ms. Wilkinson has built a diverse career in clinical research and pharmaceutical operations. As the owner and principal consultant of Clinical Research Concepts, she collaborates with small to mid-sized companies — including startups and established pharmaceutical and medical device firms — that lack fully developed research departments as well as those in the early stages of building such infrastructure. With specialties in executive leadership, all facets of clinical operations and quality assurance, she helps to develop and reviews research protocols, identifies suitable research sites for partnerships, negotiates contracts and oversees the operation of clinical trials to ensure projects remain on track.

From 2024 to 2025, Ms. Wilkinson also served as the head of clinical operations for the United States at Luminate Medical, which is building cutting-edge technology to benefit for patients with cancer. Hired to establish clinical trials, develop standard operating procedures and build the clinical department domestically, she successfully increased operational visibility by 60% and reduced data entry redundancies by 90%. Her efforts were pivotal in Luminate's expansion into the American market and ensured rigorous standards for trial management.

Prior to joining Luminate Medical, Ms. Wilkinson held the position of senior director of clinical operations at Avation Medical. She was brought in to evaluate the progress of the initial trial for the Vivally device, an at-home treatment system for patients with an overactive bladder. In addition to increasing enrollment rates, she launched and managed a second trial that was essential for submission to the United States Food and Drug Administration for device clearance. Under her guidance, full enrollment was achieved within approximately six months, leading to both trials being completed on time. Counting this period among her most notable career achievements, she takes great joy in knowing that the system is now marketed to help patients manage their symptoms and fully enjoy life.

Prior to her transition into research-focused roles, Ms. Wilkinson built a strong foundation in advocacy and scientific affairs at Pacira Pharmaceuticals Inc., serving as the director of advocacy relations from 2015 to 2016 and area director of scientific affairs from 2011 to 2015. In these positions, she educated lawmakers about the opioid epidemic and patient addiction while also focusing on clinical education initiatives. Her work there also included participating in a phase IV clinical trial for Exparel, which sparked her enduring passion for research.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Wilkinson spent half a decade in medical device sales followed by several years working for various pharmaceutical companies in sales roles from 2000 to 2011. These experiences provided her with valuable insights into medication administration and patient care that would later inform her approach to clinical research.

Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, Ms. Wilkinson completed graduate studies as a student at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where she earned a Master of Science in health sciences and clinical research administration in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston, completed in 1993. To deepen her knowledge and qualifications, she is certified as a clinical researcher by the Clinical Research Associate (CRA) Training Institute and in clinical research conduct and management by University of California, Berkeley Extension.

Ms. Wilkinson's initial interest in medicine began during her time as a sales representative, when she educated nurses on the benefits of Cardine IV and other life-saving medications and educated physicians on surgical drug applications. This connection between laboratory science and real-world patient outcomes inspired her transition into research after she participated in post-market clinical trials at Pacira Pharmaceuticals, ultimately leading her back to academia to pursue a field she was truly passionate about.

To share insights and stay at the forefront of best leadership practices, Ms. Wilkinson is an active member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Reflecting on her storied journey thus far, she attributes much of her success to exceptional mentors like Kay Warnott and Jill Schiaparelli, who recognized her potential and have provided guidance throughout her diverse career. She is also immensely grateful to her supportive husband for his encouragement and steadfast support during pivotal moments.

Also known for her commitment to civic engagement and community service throughout Texas, Ms. Wilkinson has served on the board of directors for the William A. Lawson Institute for Peace and Prosperity, the University of Houston Bauer College Alumni Board of Directors, and is an active member of the Calf Scramble Donors Committee with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Furthermore, because she has a love of college athletics, she contributed significantly to media relations for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic — an annual college football title game — from 1996 to 2013.

Ms. Wilkinson's outstanding leadership and decades of contributions to health care have seen her recognized with numerous honors. She was honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the University of Houston Alumni Association in 2018 and has earned Rookie of the Year accolades as well as multiple sales awards throughout her career.

Determined to further her impact in the coming years, Ms. Wilkinson aims to develop innovative clinical research concepts that will enable pharmaceutical and medical technology companies to deliver life-saving/life-changing products to patients worldwide while also dedicating quality time to her family and friends. Her passion for research, perseverance and service to her community continue to set a shining example for her colleagues as well as future generations of caregivers and researchers.
