Mr. Riley-Mercado currently serves as the operational excellence manager (Focused Improvement Pillar Owner) at Bay Valley Foods, a division of TreeHouse Foods, Inc., in Wayland, Michigan, a role he began in 2024. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving process optimization and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. His leadership has been instrumental in empowering team members to advance in their careers. One of his most significant accomplishments is the promotion of two warehouse supervisors to warehouse manager roles, a milestone that underscores his commitment to developing talent and supporting professional growth.

Before joining TreeHouse Foods, Inc., Mr. Riley-Mercado held the position of plant operations manager III at Kellogg Company, now Kellanova Company, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 2021 to 2024. During his tenure, he oversaw plant operations and implemented strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency across multiple departments.

From 2015 to 2021, Mr. Riley-Mercado contributed to Nestlé USA in Anderson, Indiana, as production supervisor and production shift manager. In these roles, he managed daily production activities, coordinated cross-functional teams and ensured adherence to quality standards.

His earlier experience includes serving PepsiCo in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 2008 to 2015 as an inventory control specialist and analyst, distribution center supervisor and production supervisor. He was responsible for inventory management, logistics coordination and supervising distribution center & production operations.

Mr. Riley-Mercado began his career at Wurth Service Supply, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 2005 to 2008 as a transportation and logistics specialist and quality document control coordinator. Here, he developed foundational expertise in logistics and quality assurance that would inform his future leadership roles.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Riley-Mercado has demonstrated a strong commitment to industry engagement and ethical leadership. He served as vice president of IT and historian for the Kappa Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. He was a student advisory board member on the ethics committee for undergraduate programs at Indiana University Indianapolis Kelley School of Business.

Mr. Riley-Mercado earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration in human resource management, marketing management and distribution-marketing management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His academic background provided him with a comprehensive understanding of business operations and strategic management that has been integral to his career progression. He is also certified in transportation & logistics (CTL) by the American Society of Transportation & Logistics, further demonstrating his expertise in supply chain management.

He attributes much of his success to the guidance of exceptional mentors and sponsors who believed in him during challenging times and provided growth opportunities.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Riley-Mercado is an active member of Ada Bible Church, reflecting his dedication to community involvement.

Born in Indianapolis, Mr. Riley-Mercado values time spent with family, traveling and watching classic movies. He is the father of two sons and one daughter. Looking ahead, he aims to leverage his diverse background in quality, production, continuous improvement, logistics, distribution and transportation by leading his own facility as a plant manager.
