Prior to joining Interport, Dr. Barone served as a plant manager at Clarcor Industries (now Parker Hannifin Corporation) in Vineland, New Jersey, from 2017 to 2018, and at Royal Ingredients Group in Swedesboro, New Jersey, from 2014 to 2017. Earlier, as warehouse and distribution manager for Sweet Ovations LLC (now Zentis Fruchtwelt GmbH & Co. KG) in Philadelphia from 2011 to 2014, he successfully managed logistics operations and coordinated distribution strategies to support significant business growth. His career also includes key contributions at Barry Callebaut in Pennsauken, New Jersey, beginning in 2007, where he honed his expertise in inventory management and large-scale manufacturing operations.

Dr. Barone began his professional journey with Penn Warehousing & Distribution Inc. in 1993 as a material handler. Through hard work and perseverance, he advanced to team lead by 2001 and later to senior terminal manager, a role he held until 2007. Remarkably, he rose through these positions prior to pursuing formal higher education, driven by determination and an unwavering work ethic.

Academically, Dr. Barone went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from CCU in 2017, followed by a Doctor of Business Administration from European-American University, in collaboration with the Oxford Centre of Leadership and Western Orthodox University, in 2025. He also holds several professional certifications, including credentials in data science and machine learning from Udemy Inc., operational excellence from the Community College of Philadelphia, and Six Sigma Lean Professional certification from the Management and Strategy Institute. In addition, he earned a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt from the Computer Society of India and KINDUZ Consulting.

Dr. Barone's expertise and contributions have been further recognized through a fellowship and professorship in business with European-American University, affiliated with the Oxford Centre of Leadership and the Virtus Leadership Center at Western Orthodox University. In 2025, he was also awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy from the European Institute of Leadership and Management.
