As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Love has established a distinguished career marked by leadership, innovation and a steadfast commitment to service. For the past 20 years, she has served as development director at Milestone, Inc., where her expertise in fundraising and marketing has been instrumental in raising critical funds to support individuals with developmental disabilities who require specialized care. Ms. Love is particularly proud of her efforts in this role, as she has made a tangible difference in the lives of those who are unable to care for themselves.

Before joining Milestone, Inc., Ms. Love held the dual roles of news director and community relations director at WIFR from 1983 to 2004. During her tenure, she was recognized as one of the few female news directors in the mid-1980s, breaking significant barriers in a male-dominated industry. Her leadership not only advanced newsroom standards but also paved the way for future generations of women in broadcasting. Ms. Love's work at WIFR was complemented by her active involvement with professional organizations such as the Radio-TV News Directors Association, where she served as television state coordinator for Illinois from 1989 to 1996, and the Illinois Associated Press, where she held positions on the executive committee in 1989, as president-elect in 1990 and as president in 1991.

From 1979 to 1983, Ms. Love contributed to WTVO-TV as an anchor, reporter and producer. Her dedication to journalistic excellence during this period earned her recognition within the industry and laid the foundation for her subsequent leadership roles. Concurrently, she shared her knowledge as a speaker for Rockford Public Schools from 1980 to 1983 and again in 1997, further demonstrating her commitment to education and community engagement.

Throughout her career, Ms. Love has been an active member of numerous professional associations, including the National Association of Female Executives, the Illinois News Broadcasters Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the American Management Association. She has also contributed to organizations such as the Archaeological Institute of America and the University of Chicago Oriental Institute. Her involvement with the Rockford Chamber of Commerce is notable; she was a member of the President's Club from 1993 to 2005, served on the public policy committee in 1997 and acted as an ambassador that same year. Additionally, Ms. Love has held leadership roles with Zonta and participated in the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives.

Ms. Love's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in communications with high honors from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, earned in 1979. She furthered her education with master's level coursework in broadcast management at the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, Missouri, completed in 1990. These academic achievements provided a strong foundation for her success across multiple sectors.

Her professional credentials include certification as a certified nonprofit executive, certified development executive and certified nonprofit consultant from the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives, all obtained in 2024. These certifications underscore her expertise and commitment to excellence within the nonprofit sector.

Civic engagement has been a hallmark of Ms. Love's life. She has served as president of the board of directors for the American Heart Association in Winnebago County from 1999 to 2002. She has been involved with organizations such as the Rockford Boys and Girls Club since 1997 and Rockford CrimeStoppers since 1992. Her service extends to leadership roles with YWCA Rockford, including board membership from 1997 to 1999 and leading both the Lunch Council from 1994 to 1995 and the Leader Luncheon Council from 1992 to 1993. Additional affiliations include board membership with Rockford Airshow from 1994 to 1995, participation with Northwest Illinois Alzheimer & Related Disorder Association in 1991 and involvement with Discovery Center Museum from 1987 to 1990.

Ms. Love's dedication has been recognized through numerous awards, such as the Lifescape Community Services Volunteerism Award in 2009, the Kiwanis Touch A Life Award in 2003, the Distinguished Service Award from the American Heart Association in 2000, and multiple Crimestopper of the Year Awards from Rockford in both 1996 and 2000. She received an Associated Press Award in 1986 and was honored with a Leadership Award by Ken-Rock Community Center in Rockford in 1980. In addition, she was named to the Illinois State University Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2024 as a result of her professional accomplishments. At this time she was also honored with Proclamations from the Illinois Governor, The Illinois House of Representative and the Illinois Senate, along with the Rockford City Council.

Her creative contributions include producing the news story "Pee Wee Explosion" in 1985, which stands among her notable projects.

Born in Rockford, Ms. Love enjoys traveling, photography, dog training and competing in dog sports outside her professional commitments. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of her community, a value that continues to inspire her ongoing efforts.
