CHARLESTON, WV, October 10, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Angela Vance, Associate State Director for Advocacy at AARP West Virginia, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who, a prestigious biographical registry that profiles individuals based on their professional achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions to their fields.

With over two decades of experience in public policy and advocacy, Ms. Vance has built a career marked by dedication, impact, and service to the people of West Virginia. Since 2004, she has led AARP's all-volunteer advocacy team across the state, equipping them with the tools and training necessary to advance legislative priorities that improve the lives of older West Virginians.

Her leadership has been instrumental in securing major policy victories, including the 2024 elimination of the state tax on Social Security benefits and the 2025 passage of legislation strengthening consumer protections under the West Virginia Consumer Protection Act. These efforts earned her and her team national and state-level recognition, including the Ragan PR Daily Nonprofit Communications Award and the Ralph Young Award for Consumer Advocacy.

Before her tenure at AARP, Ms. Vance served as public policy director for the West Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer's Association from 2002 to 2004. In this role, she served as a lobbyist and advocate for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease, further developing her expertise in healthcare and long-term care policy. Her professional journey began in 2001 as an administrative assistant with the West Virginia Legislature, where she gained firsthand experience in legislative processes that inspired her subsequent career path.

She is widely regarded as an expert in health care, long-term care, consumer protection, digital opportunity, and the prevention of financial exploitation.

Ms. Vance holds a bachelor's degree in history from Marshall University and is a graduate of the Leadership West Virginia program. She also serves in advisory roles with the West Virginia Office of Broadband and remains active in civic life through her church, school, and community organizations.

"I'm honored to be recognized by Marquis Who's Who," said Vance. "This work is deeply personal to me, and I'm proud to stand alongside a team of passionate advocates who are committed to making West Virginia a better place for people of all ages."
