LOS ANGELES, CA, October 15, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark K. Ameli, Esq., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Ameli has built a distinguished legal career spanning more than 45 years, establishing himself as a leader in litigation, personal injury, and business law. As founder of Ameli Law Group, he has guided clients through complex legal challenges with insight and skill, handling all phases of litigation through trial. His expertise in personal injury, workers' compensation, and business litigation has earned him recognition as a trusted authority within the Los Angeles legal community. Notably, Mr. Ameli is recognized as the first Iranian American attorney in Los Angeles to specialize in litigation and personal injury law — a pioneering achievement in the profession.
Since 1994, Mr. Ameli has also served as a mediator and arbitrator, successfully resolving hundreds of disputes and litigated cases. Between 2005 and 2015, he founded and led Diversified Dispute Resolution, where he advanced his innovative approach to mediation through Cross-Cultural Negotiation. From 2015 to 2019, he served as a mediator and arbitrator with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Services, Inc., expanding his influence in dispute resolution throughout Southern California.
In addition to his work with Ameli Law Group, Mr. Ameli has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law since 2017, sharing his extensive legal knowledge with aspiring professionals.
Earlier in his career, he co-founded the Law Offices of Ameli, Ayvazi & Associates, where he served as partner from 1999 to 2009 and gained extensive experience in business and serious personal injury litigation. Prior to that, he launched his first practice — the Law Offices of Mark K. Ameli — in 1980, his first major professional venture, which he led for nearly two decades.
In addition to his specialties in workers' compensation and personal injury law, Mr. Ameli is highly regarded for introducing cross-cultural negotiation concepts to the field of mediation. His work has been recognized by publications such as the Daily Journal. A respected writer and public speaker, he has authored articles and delivered presentations on cross-cultural mediation and negotiation, focusing on the unique challenges that arise when parties from diverse backgrounds seek resolution.
Mr. Ameli's dedication to advancing the legal profession is reflected in his longstanding involvement with professional and community organizations. He is a founding member of the Iranian American Lawyers Association (IALA), serving as its president from 1980 to 1986 and again from 2013 to 2014. He has also been active with the Southern California Mediation Association — where he served on the Board of Directors — and with the Beverly Hills Bar Association, where he chaired the Section on Conflict Resolution from 2014 to 2015. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Mr. Ameli's achievements are underpinned by an impressive academic foundation. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of West Los Angeles in 1980, a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Southern California in 1972, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1970. Inspired by a family tradition of three generations of judges on his father's side in Iran, he pursued law with a deep sense of purpose. He attributes his enduring success to his unwavering honesty with clients — valuing transparency even when delivering difficult news — a principle that has earned him lasting trust and respect.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Ameli is deeply committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. He joined Rotary, the world's oldest service organization, in 1991 and has served in numerous leadership roles within his club, the Rancho Park Rotary Club, and Rotary International District 5280, where he presently serves as General Counsel.
In 2025, he and his wife, Guity Javid, established the Negeen Foundation Inc. in honor of their daughter, Negeen, to promote mental health awareness and support research aimed at preventing anxiety among children and young adults. The foundation currently collaborates with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of California, Irvine (UCI) on programs addressing these vital issues.
Mr. Ameli also serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Independent Research on Iranian Affairs, a position he has held since 2011, and continues to maintain leadership roles within Rotary International District 5280. His commitment to service also includes past leadership as president of the Rental Park Realtors Club.
A devoted husband and family man, Mr. Ameli finds balance through writing, skiing, traveling, and cruising. His legacy of compassion and public service continues through his children — his daughter, Chantelle, following in his footsteps as an attorney, and his son, Jonathan, serving as an emergency physician in Boston.
Looking ahead, Mr. Ameli remains steadfast in his mission to serve clients with integrity, educate future generations of legal professionals, and foster greater understanding across cultures — continuing a lifetime dedicated to justice, mentorship, and meaningful community engagement.
