ORLANDO, FL, October 20, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joel Rodriguez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Rodriguez has established himself as a prominent figure in the comic book industry, demonstrating remarkable growth and innovation throughout his career. As chief executive officer of Metal Ninja Studios, he has overseen the strategic development and go-to-market strategy for the company's comic creative process, enabling clients and intellectual property holders to develop comic books based on their properties since 2019. Under his leadership, Metal Ninja Studios achieved six-figure revenue within three years, expanded its team and launched a flagship service. In February 2025, Mr. Rodriguez introduced Concept to Comic™ with a soft launch at Megacon Orlando, where he forged a partnership with novelist Charlie Rose to adapt Dragonera into a comic. By October of that year, Rose debuted his first comic at the Metal Ninja Studios booth at Baltimore Comic Con, marking a significant milestone for the company and furthering its mission to empower storytellers and brands through the comic book medium.
Before his current role, Mr. Rodriguez co-founded Brink of Reality Productions from 2020 to 2022, where he contributed to the company's creative direction and operational growth. He also served as head of design at Scout Comics & Entertainment from 2020 to 2021, overseeing visual branding and design initiatives that elevated the publisher's market presence.
Before entering the creative sector, Mr. Rodriguez built a foundation in finance and management. He worked as an accountant at Priority Credit Union from 2018 to 2019, where he managed financial records and supported fiscal operations. From 2016 to 2018, he was a parish relationship specialist for the Diocese of Orlando, fostering community engagement and strengthening organizational partnerships. His early experience includes roles as a commercial credit analysis intern at Chemical Bank from 2015 to 2016 and as an accounting intern at Chemical Financial Corporation in 2015.
Mr. Rodriguez's professional journey began in hospitality and retail management, serving as shift manager for McDonald's Corporation from 2014 to 2015, assistant manager at Donk's Mexican Joint from 2012 to 2013 and team trainer at Taco Bell from 2010 to 2012. These formative positions honed his leadership skills and work ethic.
A recognized expert in intellectual property development with a focus on comic book production, Mr. Rodriguez has received several accolades throughout his career. His comic, The Dusk County Chronicles, was nominated for Best Lettering in 2025 and previously earned a nomination as a graphic designer by the Ringo Awards in 2022. His academic achievements include placement on the Grand Valley State University Dean's List from 2014 to 2015.
Mr. Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Grand Valley State University, graduating in 2016, and an Associate of Arts in finance from Grand Rapids Community College, completed in 2014. His education provided him with analytical skills and business acumen that have been instrumental in his entrepreneurial success. He has further enhanced his expertise through certifications, including Adobe Illustrator CC from the International Academy of Computer Training in 2020, Branding for Design from LinkedIn in 2019, Learning Logo Design from LinkedIn in 2019, and ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association from 2014 to 2019.
Inspired by reading Spawn #1 by Todd McFarlane, Mr. Rodriguez entered the comic book industry despite not being an artist himself. Initially, working as an accountant left him unfulfilled, prompting him to explore comics as a hobby. He began learning lettering to reduce costs on personal projects, a skill that soon led to freelance opportunities through word of mouth. This grassroots approach enabled him to build Metal Ninja Studios without formal marketing until its expansion in 2025.
Throughout his journey, Mr. Rodriguez credits his deep sense of faith and his wife, Christina's, unwavering support as foundational elements of his success. He acknowledges that entrepreneurship is challenging but emphasizes that having a partner who believes in the vision is essential for achieving milestones.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Rodriguez has demonstrated civic commitment through volunteer work with North End Community Ministries from 2005 to 2009, formation of the Metal Ninja Charity Challenge in 2023-2024 and by partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Volusia and Flagler for children's activities in 2025.
In addition to his business endeavors, Mr. Rodriguez enjoys participating in obstacle course races, such as the Spartan Race, and values spending time with his family, including his spouse, Christina, and their child, Emmett.
Looking ahead, Mr. Rodriguez aims to establish Metal Ninja Studios as the leading hub for comic book creation and education by launching the Concept to Comic™ Academy, a platform dedicated to teaching both the craft and business aspects of making comics. Driven by a desire to challenge perceptions about the future of the comic industry, he seeks to empower storytellers at all levels with resources for success through both direct production services and educational initiatives.
Mr. Rodriguez's career exemplifies bold ambition, adaptability and dedication to advancing opportunities for creators within the comic book industry.
