NORTH BENNINGTON, VT, October 23, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- V. Hansmann has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Hansmann, innkeeper at Prospect Street Writers House in North Bennington, Vermont, has been excelling in his position since 2022. In this capacity, he manages a year-round residency program exclusively for writers, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment that accommodates up to 12 residents. Mr. Hansmann is responsible for overseeing daily operations, including administrative tasks, Zoom meetings, and supervising staff. He also implements modest online marketing strategies and advertises in Poets&Writers magazine while relying heavily on word-of-mouth referrals. Each year, he attends a conference to promote the residency, but most new residents arrive through personal recommendations.
Well-known for creating an inviting atmosphere, Mr. Hansmann provides nightly dinner, encouraging conversations among residents over good food and wine. Although he personally cooked for guests until the summer of 2024, he has since delegated culinary duties to others. Mr. Hansmann's natural affinity for hosting and his enjoyment of the ever-changing mix of clientele and challenges have established him as an expert host.
Before his current position, Mr. Hansmann founded and led a monthly reading series in Greenwich Village from 2011 to 2021. This initiative provided a platform for writers to share their work and connect with audiences in one of New York City's most vibrant literary communities. Mr. Hansmann's leadership contributed to the cultural fabric of the area and offered valuable opportunities for emerging voices.
From 1980 to 2008, Mr. Hansmann worked in finance, managing wealth for three families through a family office. Despite the professional freedom this career afforded him over three decades, he ultimately chose to pivot to seek greater personal satisfaction through creative and architectural pursuits.
Mr. Hansmann's academic background includes five years at Hamilton College and a master's degree in creative writing from Bennington College in 2011. He also completed coursework in accounting at the New York Institute of Finance. His education has played a pivotal role in shaping his approach to both creative endeavors and business management.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Hansmann has served as the co-chair of the New York Metro Area Hamilton College Alumni Association, demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and leadership.
Mr. Hansmann's most significant career milestone was transforming a dilapidated nursing home into the Prospect Street Writers House. After acquiring the property, he undertook extensive renovations that preserved the Victorian façade while demolishing approximately 75% of the original structure. The project was completed and received an Architectural Award from the Vermont chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its innovative design and historical preservation.
Mr. Hansmann attributes his success to curiosity and a deep interest in understanding people. These qualities have enabled him to build meaningful relationships throughout his career. His appreciation for life and dedication to connecting with others continue to drive his personal growth and professional accomplishments.
Looking ahead, Mr. Hansmann is focused on establishing Prospect Street Writers House on a solid financial footing. Recognizing that the organization remains in its startup phase, he has dedicated himself full-time to fundraising efforts since stepping away from previous hospitality roles. Mr. Hansmann's ongoing commitment is directed toward ensuring long-term success and sustainability for the Writer's House, thereby supporting writers and creatives for years to come.
