She also oversees the intake coordinator to guarantee prompt assignment of new clients.
In addition to her role at Positive Inner Self LLC, Ms. Buhacoff began serving as a life coach in 2025, providing guidance and support to clients navigating personal and professional transitions.
Ms. Buhacoff was a mental health therapist at NW Counseling Associates LLC from 2019 to 2020. She also provided therapy at the Lake Oswego Counseling Center between 2018 and 2020, as well as at Options Counseling and Family Services in 2018. Earlier, Ms. Buhacoff succeeded as a therapist and trainer at Lilliput Children's Service, where she supported children and families involved in the foster care system from 2015 to 2018.
Among other notable opportunities, Ms. Buhacoff held positions with Victor Community Support Services/Victor Treatment Centers, Solano County Child Welfare Services, and Yuba County Protective Services from 2011 to 2013. During her graduate studies, she also completed an internship with Yuba County Child Protective Services in emergency response. Some of her foundational roles included serving as an alcohol and drug counselor for several private organizations and for the Elk Grove Unified School District. She began as a youth counselor for the California Youth Crisis Line in 2003.
Ms. Buhacoff's academic journey began with an Associate of Arts in human services and chemical dependency from American River College in Sacramento, California, in 2005. She continued her education at California State University (CSU), Sacramento, earning a Bachelor of Arts in social work in 2009 and a Master of Social Work with a focus on child welfare in 2011. Ms. Buhacoff's professional credentials include licensure as a clinical social worker by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers and by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Additionally, she earned an edX verified certificate.
An active member of the National Association of Social Work, Ms. Buhacoff's engagement reflects her ongoing commitment to professional development and advocacy within her field. Meanwhile, her civic engagement is reflected in her decision to run for office in Georgia's Third District while managing her business remotely from Portland. Inspired by childhood interests in political science and public service, Ms. Buhacoff is preparing materials for candidacy submission ahead of upcoming elections.
Ms. Buhacoff's drive to enter the helping professions was shaped by her own experiences growing up in a tumultuous household marked by addiction and domestic violence. Recognizing early on that her environment was not healthy or safe, she resolved to break generational cycles of trauma for herself and her children. Ms. Buhacoff has since built a successful business that provides a steady income while ensuring that her children do not witness trauma or instability.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Buhacoff has developed specialized programs based on her expertise as a therapist and mother of a neurodivergent child. Drawing on personal experience with trauma and parenting challenges, she created resources designed to help mothers who have experienced trauma cope with their own challenging or triggering children. Ms. Buhacoff's program emphasizes collaboration between parents and children, focusing on creating safe environments for healing.
Ms. Buhacoff also remains committed to serving others through innovative approaches. She is also eager to expand Positive Inner Self LLC into a comprehensive wellness center that integrates modalities, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic care and naturopathy alongside meditation rooms and yoga.
