CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA, October 24, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Matthew Lee, PE, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Hailing from nearly two decades of progressive responsibility and technical achievement, Mr. Lee has led a remarkable career in the engineering sector. As the owner and structural engineer of Trailblaze Solutions LTD since 2023, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership by overseeing engineering operations, responding to client and team communications and ensuring that his staff have all the resources necessary for success. His expertise in vertical buildings and dedication to building strong customer relationships are both widely recognized, reflecting his high level of proficiency in this specialized field.
In addition to his ownership role, Mr. Lee is also a structural department manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc., which specializes in civil and environmental engineering as well as consulting for clients in manufacturing, oil and gas, real estate and mining. In this capacity, he has managed departmental operations, guided project teams and contributed to the strategic direction of the firm. He previously served as a senior structural engineer from 2020 to 2021, during which he was responsible for leading technical efforts on major projects and mentoring junior engineers.
From 2018 to 2020, Mr. Lee was the structural lead at the Pittsburgh-based consulting firm Jacobs, where he directed multidisciplinary teams on large-scale assignments and ensured the delivery of innovative solutions. His tenure as project engineer at CH2M (now Jacobs) from 2017 to 2018 further honed his project management skills and deepened his experience with complex engineering challenges.
Elsewhere in Pittsburgh, Mr. Lee worked as a project engineer at Pennoni, a design services firm where he contributed to a variety of building projects and collaborated closely with architects and contractors. In 2014, he was a design engineer at The Harman Group (now IMEG), where he played a pivotal role in a high-profile seismic project in Venezuela. His team's engineering drawings were translated into Spanish for local implementation, underscoring his ability to manage international collaborations effectively.
From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Lee was an engineer-in-training at The Kachele Group, Inc. (now AFS Engineering, LLC), where he began his professional journey during the challenging economic climate of the 2008 economic recession. Despite limited job opportunities and reduced work hours during that period, he persevered — an experience that shaped his belief in growth through adversity. He continues to share this perspective with his teams as well as college students today, encouraging them to show resilience and pursue continuous improvement on their own paths.
Academically, Mr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. His education and early career also included formative internships; as an intern engineer at Thornton Tomasetti in Philadelphia in 2006, he contributed to post-Hurricane Katrina building assessments during a college co-op rotation. The year before that, he was an intern field engineer at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (now Whiting-Turner) in Allentown, where he gained valuable on-site project management experience that informed his later work.
Among Mr. Lee's most significant achievements is earning his professional engineering license in California after nearly a year of preparation and successfully passing two rigorous examinations — accomplished despite already holding licensure in more than 30 states. More recently, his advancement to the role of department manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants represented a major shift in responsibility and leadership within his organization.
Committed to expanding his network and staying at the forefront of best engineering practices, Mr. Lee is an active member of organizations such as the American Institute of Steel Construction, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations and Associated Builders and Contractors.
Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. Lee attributes much of his success to the unwavering support of his wife, whose encouragement has been vital throughout challenging periods and celebrated milestones alike. He also credits Regis Susalla for significantly shaping his path over the course of seven years; an early recognition from Mr. Susalla with a spot bonus marked a turning point in how Mr. Lee perceived his professional value.
Happily married and a devoted father of three children, Mr. Lee remains focused on making a meaningful impact on clients, colleagues and industry partners. He continues to apply his California engineering license to new projects while building relationships with clients, vendors and contractors. Looking to the future, he aims to carry forward this approach of dedication and contribution into future roles and environments, inspiring colleagues and future generations of engineers alike.
