As a third-generation educator, Dr. Bryant-Martin has devoted more than a decade to shaping the next generation of students, educators, and leaders. As an Assistant Professor of Education and Director of the Call Me MiSTER (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) program at South Carolina State University, he teaches, mentors, and advises aspiring educators while overseeing all facets of the nationally recognized initiative.
In this dual role, Dr. Bryant-Martin leads efforts in recruitment and retention, fiscal management, academic and leadership development, and community engagement. His statewide collaborations have strengthened the teacher-education pipeline and advanced the university's mission to produce highly qualified educators. Under his leadership, the program's visibility has increased, certification pass rates among participants have risen by 150 percent, and district and community partnerships have expanded to further support South Carolina's K–12 workforce.
Before entering higher education full-time, Dr. Bryant-Martin built a strong foundation in K–12 education, serving as an elementary general music teacher and choir director, a middle school band director, and a high school assistant band director. In these roles, he expanded programs, achieved superior performance ratings, and mentored students who earned county, regional, and state honors.
In recognition of his excellence and impact, Dr. Bryant-Martin has received numerous awards, including South Carolina State University's Forty Under 40 (2025), Hardest Working Faculty Member (2025), and Newcomer Faculty Member of the Year (2024). He was also honored as Teacher of the Year at W.G. Sanders Middle School (2020) and Rookie Teacher of the Year at Summerville Elementary School (2016).
As an active researcher and author, Dr. Bryant-Martin's scholarship centers on higher education leadership, teacher preparation, and artificial intelligence in education. As a nationally acclaimed speaker and presenter, he has delivered keynote addresses, professional trainings, and national conference presentations across the United States. His service extends to numerous higher education and professional committees, and he also serves as a dissertation advisor for students in educational leadership. Dr. Bryant-Martin is the Founder of Inspired to Teach, L.L.C., an educational consulting and leadership development firm dedicated to empowering educators in the teaching profession. In addition, he is an active musician, providing free private lessons and workshops to students and performing at community events.
Dr. Bryant-Martin earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership: Higher Education from North Greenville University (2024), his Master of Music in Music Education from Anderson University (2020), and his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from South Carolina State University (2016). He also recently earned a leadership certificate through the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education's (AABHE) Leadership and Mentoring Institute, an initiative designed for mid- to senior-level higher-education leaders.
