He is dedicated to expanding its reach beyond Suffolk County, reflecting his commitment to fostering unity and representation within the broader community.

In addition to his presidency, Mr. Hugh is a co-founder of the Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society, having played a pivotal role in its establishment from 2014 to 2019. His efforts during this formative period laid the foundation for the Society's ongoing success and influence. Mr. Hugh's leadership extends nationally as he is a member of the board of directors for NAPOA, the National Asian Peace Officers Association, where he contributes to advancing the interests and professional development of Asian American law enforcement officers nationwide. He also serves on the board of directors for PASC, the Police Association of Suffolk County Inc., underscoring his dedication to advocacy and organizational excellence.

Mr. Hugh's professional journey also includes his current position as a Detective within the Suffolk County Police Department, where he has served with distinction. He is currently assigned to the Digital Forensics Unit, where he conducts forensic examinations on electronic devices. His skillset in this specialized field has earned him recognition as an authority in this critical area of modern policing. Prior to this role, Mr. Hugh was a police officer and a September 11th first responder with the New York City Police Department, where he gained invaluable experience responding to emergencies and serving one of the nation's most dynamic urban environments. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a correction officer within the New York City Department of Corrections, contributing to public safety and institutional security.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hugh has achieved several notable milestones. The Police Association of Suffolk County Inc., also known as PASC, is the oldest police fraternal organization in Suffolk County dating back to 1930. Mr. Hugh's academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1993. His studies provided him with a deep understanding of social dynamics and human behavior, which have been instrumental throughout his law enforcement career and leadership roles. He attributes much of his success to a strong desire to give back to others, especially following the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This sense of purpose continues to drive his work and fuels his desire to inspire those around him.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Hugh enjoys shooting an occasional game of pool as a personal pastime and spending quality time with his seven children.

Looking ahead, he remains focused on growing his organization beyond its current boundaries while continuing to champion diversity, service and excellence within law enforcement and the wider community.
