One defining career milestone involved her debut documentary, which evolved into a feature that premiered at the Miami Film Festival and held its U.S. West Coast premiere at the Hollywood Park Film Festival, U.K. premiere at Cambridge Film Festival, and will have its Florida premiere at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. The project earned Best Feature Documentary honors at the LA Film and Documentary Awards, was recognized as a semi-finalist at Cork International Film Festival, screened at Press Play Prague—a festival focused on international journalism—and received a nomination for the Esserman Knight Journalism Awards. Notably, Ms. Martisca is proud that her film's influence extends to academia, as universities have expressed interest in using it as educational material for emerging journalists.

Through this foundational project, Ms. Martisca has become indirectly affiliated with Knight Foundation and Press Forward, an initiative supported by the MacArthur Foundation and the American Journalism Project that seeks to rebuild public trust in local news and strengthen democratic foundations. Her courage in addressing censorship has been recognized by organizations like Reporters Without Borders, evidence of her focus on preserving journalistic integrity amid rapid technological change. Ms. Martisca counts this achievement as one of her proudest moments—that is, the transformation of a personal journey marked by a creative success that connects institutions dedicated to protecting public interest and defending truth and civic values.

Ms. Martisca's role as a visual creative with Overwatch Project | FORGE in 2024 allowed her to apply her storytelling abilities to innovative projects focused on social impact. From 2022 to 2024, she contributed as a teacher assistant at the University of Miami, supporting academic programs while nurturing future talent. In 2023, Ms. Martisca excelled as an assistant film editor for Magna Carta 2018 and completed a summer internship with Blackstar content for HBO Max, gaining valuable industry insights, and she worked as a cinematographer for Actuality Abroad during that year.

Since 2020, Ms. Martisca has also thrived as an independent journalist with the Society of Professional Journalists, contributing to critical conversations within the field while maintaining memberships in organizations such as the International Documentary Association, FilmGate Miami, Los Angeles Press Club and Press Forward. In 2025, she expanded her influence as an instructor at FilmGate Miami, sharing her knowledge with aspiring filmmakers. That same year, Ms. Martisca worked as a production assistant at Ticking Clock Productions, further advancing her skills behind the scenes.

From 2016 to 2019, Ms. Martisca was the chief executive officer of La Casa Pachamama, an ecotourism business she launched on the Amazon River that collaborated with local communities and indigenous groups. This entrepreneurial venture profoundly shaped her worldview and deepened her appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration, preparing her to relocate to New York City to engage in investigative reporting projects that merged writing with photography and visual arts. Ms. Martisca's foundational experience includes work as a marketing executive for Computing Magazine at Incisive Media in 2015 after serving on the Goncourt Student Jury with the French Institute in 2014 and completing a summer internship at a publishing house, La Cinquième Couche that same year.

Ms. Martisca's academic credentials are extensive and multidisciplinary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and French language and literature from the University of Transylvania, awarded in 2015, after which she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Roehampton in London in 2017. Subsequently, she pursued a second graduate degree and completed a Master of Fine Arts in documentary production from the University of Miami in 2022. Ms. Martisca's studies also include coursework in computer science and electrical engineering at the University of Transylvania in 2012 and additional coursework at Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard in 2010.

Ms. Martisca credits her success to her humble upbringing within a modest family environment that instilled resilience, resourcefulness and gratitude—qualities that have grounded her throughout life's challenges. She is also an avid civic servant and supports African American communities, advocates for Media Literacy, champions Books & Books and volunteers with Amazon Jungle NGOs to help preserve culture and expand educational access for indigenous communities.

Recognition for Ms. Martisca's achievements includes nominations for Esserman Knight Journalism Awards, receipt of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award and Best Feature Documentary honors from LA Film and Documentary Awards. Ms. Martisca also proudly accepted acknowledgment from the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Music and Video Film Festival, and she took second prize at the International Student Symposium hosted by Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu.

In addition to filmmaking, Ms. Martisca enjoys reading, outdoor activities, watching movies and traveling. Looking toward the future, she aims to develop a distinct brand identity while amplifying her creative voice through content produced under her filmmaking company's banner.
