MOUNT STERLING, KY, December 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph F. Sciuto has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Recognized for his expertise in writing captivating stories that address social, historical and biographical subjects, Mr. Sciuto has established himself as a novelist of distinction. His career of nearly two decades as an author is marked by his completion of nine books that explore impactful topics such as the conflict in Ukraine, the experiences of World War II survivors, the American Revolution, childhood cancer, sexual exploitation and challenges within the Hollywood industry. His literary contributions have garnered significant attention, including a profile in LA Weekly that highlighted the breadth and depth of his work.

Prior to focusing on his writing endeavors, Mr. Sciuto dedicated over two decades to the restaurant industry as both a manager and waiter at The Palm Restaurant — a popular steakhouse establishment — from 1984 to 2007. With a focus on developing the growth of his staff members and spearheading public relations campaigns, he gained both oral and written communication skills as well as unique insights into human behavior and society, all of which later informed his work as an author. During this period, he also held the position of chief executive officer at Creative International Agency from 2000 to 2005, where he demonstrated leadership and creative vision while gaining experience in both office and client management.

From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Sciuto served as president of the Troost Homeowners Association. In this capacity, he contributed to community development and oversaw meetings, maintained capital funds and engaged in scheduling and record keeping — much of which set the stage for his future management role at The Palm Restaurant.

Hailing from an equally robust academic background, Mr. Sciuto earned a master's degree in film production from Loyola Marymount University in 1986, equipping him with advanced storytelling techniques and enhancing his cinematic perspective. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and theater arts with a minor in English literature at Stony Brook University in 1982, providing him with a strong foundation in human psychology, dramatic structure and literary analysis.

Mr. Sciuto began his journey in higher education with an Associate of Arts in social science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. To augment his leadership and creative abilities, he also holds a certificate in film production from New York University, awarded in 1984.

Throughout his life, Mr. Sciuto has credited his achievements to the unwavering support — both emotional and financial — of his late wife Melissa J. L. Smith, an accomplished engineering executive who led operations at major companies such as Walt Disney and Sony. Her shining example and influence continues to guide everything he does, both professionally and personally. He also attributes his success to his lifelong commitment to writing as a form of personal salvation and to formative advice he received from influential figures like playwright Sam Shepard.

Mr. Sciuto's bibliography includes acclaimed works such as 2017's "Hollywood Riptide," which tells of the dramatic power shifts that occurred in the filmmaking industry in the 1980s, as well as 2024's "Miracle of the Rising Sun," a moving fictional tale of diverse individuals who come together during difficult times in the hope of restarting their lives. Each of his works reflect his dedication to exploring complex social issues and historical narratives through compelling storytelling and relatable characters.

Born in New York City, Mr. Sciuto continues to draw inspiration from his diverse experiences and academic pursuits. In the coming years, he intends to travel to Ukraine to gain firsthand insight into the ongoing conflict for future literary projects. He also plans to publish a significant book addressing incest, with the aim of raising awareness about its prevalence and psychological impact.

Mr. Sciuto's storied career of four decades is distinguished by his commitment to illuminating critical issues through literature, his dedication to helping others across multiple industries and his continued drive for personal growth and societal contribution.
