Additionally, Ms. Salgado Santos advises on legislation impacting supply chains, such as the EUDR (European Deforestation-free Regulation), bridges communication between companies and their supply chains, and supports clients in achieving net-zero, water-use reduction and other environmental commitments. Her expertise extends to educating clients on regulatory requirements and best practices for aligning farmers and suppliers with corporate goals.

Ms. Salgado Santos's passion for sustainability was sparked during her time abroad in Norway, where she realized the profound impact of agriculture on daily life and future generations. Upon joining Peterson & Control Union Group, she gained deeper insight into how food and beverage companies influence change throughout supply chains down to the farm level, a realization that solidified her commitment to advancing sustainable practices.

Before being acquired by the Florida-based environmental consultancy organization, Ms. Salgado Santos was affiliated with Control Union from 2021 to 2022 as a certification coordinator, providing third-party certification services for sustainable voluntary schemes. She began her professional journey with Control Union in 2019 as a global graduate trainee. During this formative program, Ms. Salgado Santos lived and worked in multiple countries, including the Netherlands, where she gained exposure to sustainable business models, and Spain, where she focused on sustainability marketing and market expansion. This international experience provided her with comprehensive exposure to the complexities of global supply chains and the critical role of certification in promoting sustainable practices.

Ms. Salgado Santos's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo (ESALQ-USP) in Piracicaba in 2018. During her studies, she completed coursework in sustainable value chains at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås in 2017. This international experience introduced her to the sustainability industry, where she explored climate change, the risk management of natural resources and political ecology. These topics ignited Ms. Salgado Santos's passion for integrating sustainability into agriculture. Beyond her education, her commitment to continuous learning is evident in her completion of several programs, including Energy Within Environmental Constraints through Harvard Online in 2020.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Santos is deeply interested in climate leadership, animal welfare, and cultural engagement. She joined the Climate Reality Leadership Corps through The Climate Reality Project in 2021 and continues to volunteer her time to causes that promote environmental awareness and community well-being.
