ANNANDALE, VA, December 09, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nancy Van Balen has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Van Balen has established a distinguished career in the government contracting and technology sector, currently serving as chief growth officer at 9th Way Insignia since 2023. In this capacity, she has played a pivotal role in steering the company's strategic direction, particularly as it adapts to rapid changes in government operations driven by artificial intelligence and automation.

Over the past year, Ms. Van Balen has shifted her focus toward advancing automation initiatives that enhance governmental efficiency, notably through the development of innovative tools for the Zero Trust program. Under her leadership, 9th Way Insignia has intensified its marketing efforts, including a comprehensive website refresh and targeted LinkedIn campaigns, reinforcing its identity as a cyber analytics innovator rather than a generalist firm. Despite challenges such as funding cuts influenced by market trends, she has demonstrated resilience by redirecting internal resources to automation and positioning the company for future regulatory changes.

From 2019 to 2023, Ms. Van Balen served as Vice President of Growth at 9th Way Insignia. During this period, she helped guide the successful integration of Insignia Technologies, driving strategic growth, enhancing operational alignment, and fostering a supportive, high-performance culture.

Ms. Van Balen began her tenure at 9th Way Insignia in 2018 as a business development consultant. As the sole growth member at its inception, she managed all aspects of capture and strategy single-handedly, laying the groundwork for the company's subsequent growth and success.

Prior to joining this firm, she served as director of business development at AvantGarde LLC from 2017 to 2018 and was the director of business development at Pro-Sphere Tek Inc. the preceding year, where she focused on expanding the company's presence within government markets and supporting its status as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.

Between 2013 and 2016, Ms. Van Balen worked as director of business development for federal civilian accounts at Information Innovators Inc., also known as Triple-i. Here, she built connections with industry leaders and further developed her expertise in federal contracting—a foundation that would later prove invaluable when collaborating with the same chief executive officer who founded 9th Way Insignia.

Her earlier experience includes nearly twenty-two years at SRA International from 1990 to 2012 as a business account manager. At SRA International—now part of General Dynamics Information Technology—she managed complex client relationships and contributed to projects that shaped environmental policy through Marasco Newton Group. Her foundational roles include managing accounts payable at Best Programs before ascending from secretary to project management roles at First Virginia Bank.

Although Ms. Van Balen did not attend college—a decision that diverged from her father's wishes—she attributes her success to the guidance of women mentors who helped her navigate predominantly male environments throughout her career. These mentors imparted critical knowledge and support that enabled her to progress from an entry-level secretary position with the Department of the Navy to executive leadership roles in major organizations.

Ms. Van Balen's career trajectory is marked by resilience and adaptability, balancing professional advancement with family commitments during an era when women were often challenged to manage both work and home life. She considers her greatest achievements to be both her children and her rise to chief growth officer through relationship-building and trust. She has also been recognized with several honors, including being named among the Top 25 Women Executives in 2024 and receiving a Quality Award from SRA International.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Van Balen is actively involved in civic initiatives. She supports Willing Warriors, contributes to church activities, assists Habitat for Humanity projects and makes monetary donations to various charitable organizations.

Born in Alexandria, Ms. Van Balen is deeply proud of her family—her two sons and daughter—and values the partnership she shares with her husband in raising their children while pursuing demanding careers. Her oldest son works for Nestlé, her middle son is professionally engaged in marketing at 9th Way Insignia, and her daughter teaches third grade at an elementary school.

Outside of work, Ms. Van Balen enjoys painting, hiking, walking, exercising, gardening and reading as hobbies. Looking ahead, she is committed to growing 9th Way Insignia into a large, highly successful business capable of competing with industry leaders by leveraging agility and automation capabilities. While passionate about her professional endeavors, she also hopes to explore personal interests, such as starting her own plant store, a dream she looks forward to pursuing alongside continued contributions to her field.
