For five years, Ms. Bergquist was the senior manager of engagement and social media at GreatPetCare (A Covetrus Solution), where she honed her skills in short-form media storytelling that focused on pets and the essentials for their health following her tenure as mobile team customer service lead from 2018 to 2020.

During these years, Ms. Bergquist managed high-profile social media accounts such as DogsofInstagram and DogsofTikTok — platforms with millions of followers — where she specialized in creating advertisements that not only promoted brands but also entertained audiences.

Ms. Bergquist's journey in the pet industry began at Barkly Pets in 2018, a small startup where she served as a customer experience specialist, marketing strategist and blog strategist until 2020. The company's acquisition by GreatPetCare during the COVID-19 pandemic marked a major turning point in her career trajectory. Prior to this, she worked at Via from 2016 to 2018 as a consumer services specialist — engaging directly with drivers at the company's driver center — and contributed as a freelance writer for Brooklyn Grooming from 2015 to 2017.

Throughout her career, Ms. Bergquist has demonstrated her passion for helping those in the greatest need. While managing DogsofInstagram, she developed a Give Back program that raised nearly $100,000 annually for shelter dogs — a solo effort that resulted in countless animals finding forever homes. One notable success involved producing a video about a seven-year-old dog who had spent his entire life in a shelter; after seeing the video, an individual traveled from Michigan to Long Island to adopt him.

To share insights and expand her network, Ms. Bergquist has been an active member of the American Civil Liberties Union since 2019 and the Poetry Society of New York since 2015 — with the latter recognizing her as Member of the Year in 2021. Also known for giving back to her community beyond her professional roles, she volunteers as a dog walker at Animal Haven and supports local green spaces through volunteer work with the Parks Department.

Before venturing onto her initial path as a freelance writer, Ms. Bergquist pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Northwest Nazarene University in 2015. Her academic background provided her with critical thinking skills and an appreciation for narrative structure — qualities that have informed both her marketing strategies and creative pursuits.
