As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Bloise has established himself as a distinguished leader in quality and patient safety. As the chief quality officer at Episcopal Health Services since December 2024, he oversees the quality and patient safety department, regulatory and accreditation department, risk management department, and infection prevention and control department. His leadership is marked by a dedication to transforming hospitals into high-reliability organizations, with a focus on promoting a just culture that prioritizes learning from human error rather than assigning blame.

Prior to joining Episcopal Health Services, Dr. Bloise served as the senior director of quality, analytics, and patient safety at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital from Jan 2023 to Dec 2024, during which time he focused on building a strategic patient safety plan while championing initiatives that elevated patient care standards. His tenure as the corporate director of quality and patient safety at the same institution from 2018 until 2023 was marked by significant advancements in departmental performance and the implementation of innovative safety protocols.

Previously at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Bloise was the manager of quality and patient safety in 2018 and a project manager for quality and patient safety between 2016 and 2018. These positions provided him with foundational experience in health care administration, allowing him to develop expertise in process improvement and risk mitigation strategies.

Before transitioning into administrative leadership, Dr. Bloise was the chief physician assistant for liver transplant at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell campus from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, he practiced as a physician assistant in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center from 2012 until 2025, honing his clinical skills and deepening his understanding of patient care.

Instrumental in shaping Dr. Bloise's career trajectory was his academic background, which began with a Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from Quinnipiac University, completed in 2006. He also maintains certification as a physician assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Considering his career, Dr. Bloise is particularly proud of his transition from bedside care to quality and patient safety, where he can actively work to promote physician assistants into leadership roles, addressing the scarcity of such representation in quality and safety departments. Also notable was the completion of his doctorate while balancing full-time responsibilities and a clinical quality fellowship through the Greater New York Hospital Association.

Throughout his endeavors, Dr. Bloise's professional accomplishments include being featured as a physician assistant leader by the New York State Society of Physician Associates (NYSSPA) in 2025. He is also an active member of NCCPA, NYSSPA and Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Compassion for others motivates him to continually improve hospital systems for greater safety and reliability. He further credits his mentors, whose guidance helped him develop a unique leadership style focused on team recognition and continuous improvement.

Looking ahead, Dr. Bloise remains dedicated to advancing health care by fostering cultures of safety within hospitals, emphasizing psychological safety among staff so that systemic issues can be addressed proactively.
