SCOTTSDALE, AZ, December 10, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bethany E. Friedman, PsyD, CEDS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Distinguished by more than a decade of leadership, clinical excellence, and a profound commitment to supporting young people, Dr. Friedman has built a notable career as a clinical psychologist specializing in eating disorders, body image issues, and self-harming behaviors among teens and young adults. In 2025, she founded BraveFull Psychology, a therapy practice dedicated to helping clients heal their relationships with themselves and their bodies.
Practicing across Arizona, California, and New York, Dr. Friedman provides evidence-based treatment for individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, poor self-esteem, and high-risk behaviors. Her work centers on the belief that no young person should navigate their struggles alone. The establishment of BraveFull Psychology reflects both a significant personal milestone and her steadfast commitment to advancing specialized, compassionate mental health care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Friedman has served as an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University since 2021, teaching graduate students in counseling psychology and contributing to the academic training of the next generation of mental health professionals.
Previously, Dr. Friedman served as a licensed clinical psychologist at Kaiser Permanente from 2015 to 2025. During her tenure, she progressed from a newly licensed provider to the regional eating-disorder specialist for a large service area. She worked within the child and adolescent outpatient program, served as a crisis clinician, and led a teen intensive outpatient program. She was also recognized for her expertise through opportunities to provide professional development and lead regional postdoctoral training on eating disorders achievements she considers among the most meaningful of her career.
Dr. Friedman's extensive clinical foundation includes practicum training in psychiatric hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, and juvenile hall. She completed an APA-accredited internship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx (2012–2013), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Karen Horney Clinic in Manhattan (2013–2014). She also gained international experience through clinical training at Macquarie University's Anxiety Research Unit in Australia.
Inspired early by a desire to follow in her father's footsteps and pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Friedman discovered during her undergraduate psychology courses that her true passion lay in understanding human development and supporting emotional well-being. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University in 2005, with a minor in Education Studies, followed by a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University–San Francisco Bay in 2013.
Dr. Friedman is licensed as a clinical psychologist in Arizona (2024), California (2015), and New York (2014), and is recognized as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). She also contributes to the professional community through her leadership as membership chair for the Phoenix Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
Her scholarly contributions include the publication of "Disordered Eating in Sexually Abused Adolescent Girls: A Proposed Comprehensive Treatment Program" (California School of Professional Psychology, 2013). She is also engaged in community service, particularly through involvement with the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center's preschool and youth programs.
Reflecting on her storied journey thus far, Dr. Friedman attributes her success to the ideals of continuous learning and the adaptation of treatment models to best serve clients in a rapidly changing world. She is also deeply motivated by her young children, whose presence reinforces her commitment to supporting the emotional well-being of the next generation. Dr. Friedman aims to connect on a deeper, emotionally supportive level with clients to help them feel seen and worthy in their lives. She is immensely grateful for the unwavering love, encouragement, and support from her husband, family, and friends.
Looking ahead, Dr. Friedman aims to expand BraveFull Psychology's community impact by partnering with local schools, athletic programs, and parent-child groups. Her long-term vision includes developing early-intervention initiatives for eating disorders and mother-daughter body-image programs that support families navigating these challenges. With enduring dedication to service, compassion, and leadership, Dr. Friedman continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.
