PIONEER VALLEY, MA, December 10, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary S. Malkin has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Since 2001, Mr. Malkin has established a distinguished career as a public speaker, health and arts innovator, and consultant dedicated to enhancing our shared humanity. Through his former company, Wisdom of the World, and now his consulting firm, Gary Malkin Enterprises, he has been recognized for harnessing the transformative power of music and spoken word to support individuals and communities during pivotal life transitions.
Among his most celebrated achievements is his co-creation (with Michael Stillwater and Doris Laesser Stillwater) of the globally acclaimed project Graceful Passages: A Companion for Living and Dying. This work has touched millions worldwide, helping people find greater acceptance around the end-of-life process and loss of many kinds. By blending spoken wisdom with original music, Graceful Passages enables listeners to experience universal insights emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually—fostering deeper emotional and spiritual maturity during life's most challenging thresholds.
Mr. Malkin is the visionary, executive producer, and composer of the contemplative television series Islands of Inner Peace on Gaia TV, featuring the spoken wisdom of luminaries such as Deepak Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, Ram Dass, and other global spiritual leaders. The series exemplifies his dedication to integrating music, contemplative media, and universal wisdom to support human flourishing.
He is currently forming Portals of Awe, a virtual community centered on authenticity, vulnerability, and contemplative listening, while continuing to create musically enhanced media at the intersection of music, healing, and transformation for entrepreneurs, organizational teams, and leaders. As co-founder of You, Awake: Mastering the Art of Flow, he works with author and teacher Hope Fitzgerald to help individuals navigate grief, cultivate resilience, and awaken heightened states of awareness and creativity.
In 2012, Mr. Malkin was appointed Artistic Director of Aesthetic Audio Systems, where he creates stress-reduction resources for healthcare settings. His contributions to the Rejuvenation Station—an innovative music-based resilience resource—have been embraced by Veterans Administration medical centers across the United States.
Since 2001, Mr. Malkin has served as a keynote speaker, performer, and personal development consultant for healthcare, corporate, and faith-based institutions. As the visionary behind We Rise As One and the nonprofit Global Wisdom Foundation, he is pioneering new ways for communities to gather in uplifting, nonpartisan events that foster unity, reverence, and more compassionate public discourse. His presentations and performances illustrate music's unique capacity to foster empathy, connection, and shared purpose.
Mr. Malkin's career as an Emmy Award–winning composer and producer began in 1980, when he founded one of the most successful music production companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over several decades, he created music for more than 1,000 commercials, approximately 100 socially responsible documentaries, numerous feature films, and television programs—including a 15-year tenure composing for the top-rated series Unsolved Mysteries. His scores for the groundbreaking Thrive documentaries, viewed by over 100 million people globally, further solidified his reputation for merging artistic excellence with socially conscious themes.
His creative output encompasses multiple albums, media projects, and publications, including Safe in the Arms of Love: Deepening the Essential Bond With Your Baby (Wise Parenting Press, 2011); Graceful Passages: A Companion for Living and Dying (New World Library, 2006); and Music of the Great Smoky Mountains (Real Music, 2000), which raised more than $100,000 for the Great Smoky Mountains Resource Protection Fund to help preserve and protect the national park.
Mr. Malkin's professional affiliations reflect his commitment to advancing the fields of music, consciousness studies, and philanthropy. He is a member of the Evolutionary Leaders Circle, the Transformational Leaders Circle, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
His academic background includes studies in composition and ethnomusicology at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the University of Southern California, and San Francisco State University. His musical life began at age five, when he spontaneously started improvising on the piano. Growing up in a supportive New York suburban family, he was deeply influenced by films such as The Miracle Worker, which awakened his understanding of music's emotional power. Inspired by Leonard Bernstein, he recognized early that music could open hearts and catalyze profound emotional breakthroughs.
Over more than two decades, he built the largest music production company in San Francisco—initially Remal Music Design, later Music Design. A serious bicycle accident became a turning point, prompting a shift toward creating works that integrate spoken wisdom from global leaders with original music, advancing a form of emotionally intelligent media he now calls "alchemical wisdom."
Mr. Malkin's civic engagement includes founding the Global Wisdom Foundation in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. He has also contributed original music to numerous media projects supporting the Pachamama Alliance in San Francisco.
His work has earned him numerous accolades, including Best Soundtrack honors at media festivals, along with Emmy Awards, Clio Awards, Peabody Awards, and ASCAP Awards.
Outside his professional work, Mr. Malkin enjoys time in nature, hiking, swimming, watching films, and connecting with friends. He is devoted to his daughter.
Looking ahead, Mr. Malkin is completing his forthcoming book, The Resonance Revolution, (working title) and will present a TEDx talk on Resonance Intelligence in January 2026—advancing his legacy as an innovator at the intersection of music, healing, and human connection.
