Before founding her own firm, Mrs. Yancy was a senior designer at KSI Kitchen & Bath from 2018 to 2023. In this capacity, she honed her expertise in installations and project coordination, contributing to the company's reputation for quality and innovation. Her tenure at KSI followed nearly eight years at Modern Builders Supply, where she initially worked as a kitchen and bath designer and assistant branch manager from 2010 to 2017 before advancing to branch manager from 2017 to 2018. During this period, she played an instrumental role in opening a new showroom in Lansing and developed leadership skills that would later inform her entrepreneurial pursuits.

Mrs. Yancy began her professional journey as a kitchen and bath designer at Don Abel Building Supply in Juneau, Alaska, from 2008 to 2010. This early experience provided valuable insight into diverse design preferences and client needs. Her foundational training included an interior design internship with Merillat Cabinets from 2007 to 2008, during which she gained practical experience in cabinetry design and in adherence to industry standards.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Yancy has been recognized for her contributions to the field. She served as a judge for the design class at Adrian College, reflecting her commitment to fostering emerging talent within the industry, and has hosted multiple interns from various universities such as Eastern Michigan University.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design from Adrian College, completed in 2008. She also pursued coursework in architecture and art history at Richmond, The American International University in London, Inc., in 2007, broadening her understanding of global design principles. Mrs. Yancy is a graduate of Holly High School, class of 2004.

Professional development remains central to Mrs. Yancy's approach. She holds an NKBA cabinetry badge from the National Kitchen & Bath Association Michigan State Chapter, is a certified aging-in-place specialist through the National Association of Home Builders, and earned credentials as a residential builder or maintenance and alteration salesperson from PSI Services LLC during her employment at KSI. These certifications underscore her dedication to staying current with industry standards and best practices.

Mrs. Yancy attributes much of her success to the values instilled by her parents and Christian upbringing, which emphasized hard work, ethical conduct and curiosity. Encouraged by her father to ask questions and pursue knowledge without hesitation, she developed a passion for homes and design at an early age, often requesting tours of friends' houses to observe their unique layouts and décor choices. Early exposure to drafting through AutoCAD classes during high school further fueled her interest in the field.

Her professional achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Best Interior Designer by Quality Business Awards in 2025, first place honors from Grand Blanc View's Best of the Best Reader's Choice Awards in 2024, two-time first place recipient at the National Chrysalis Awards in 2023 and 2024, a gold distinction from Qualified Remodeler's Master Design Award in 2023, bronze awards for new home interior design project of the year in 2022 and remodeled kitchen project of the year in 2021 from HBA of Southeast Michigan, as well as silver for best main bathroom in the $50-100k category by KBDN in 2020. These accolades reflect both peer recognition and community impact.

Civic engagement is integral to Mrs. Yancy's life. She volunteers with the youth group at her local church, demonstrating a commitment to mentorship and service beyond her professional responsibilities.

Born in Holly, Mrs. Yancy deeply values family. She shares a longstanding connection with her husband through their shared church community, a tradition they continue with their three children: a son attending seventh grade, a daughter in fifth grade and their youngest daughter enrolled in kindergarten at Genesee Christian School in Burton. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at church, and baking with her children.
