Prior to this, she spent three years as an associate dentist and office manager at Dental Made Easy, while dedicating her available time to support other practices with patient care, gaining valuable experience across diverse clinical settings. Dr. Malakova began her professional journey in 2010 at Queens Hospital Center, completing a residency that provided foundational training for dentistry and patient interaction. She also engaged in entrepreneurial and leadership development through Management Experts Inc. (MGE), gaining the understanding and application that shaped her approach to practice ownership, management and consulting.

A defining aspect of Dr. Malakova's career is her innovative contribution to oral health products. In 2013, she and her husband were awarded dual U.S. patents for a toothbrush design featuring interchangeable bristle heads intended to extend usability and support sustainability. The development of a prototype and commercial reflected their shared commitment to advancing patient-centered oral care solutions.

Throughout her career, she has been involved in professional organizations including the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association, which supported her engagement with industry standards, continuing education and the broader professional community.

Dr. Malakova earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2010 after completing her bachelor's degree at St. John's University in 2006. During her education, she served as Vice President during her senior year at NYU Dental and President of the Jewish Students' Association at St. John's University, roles that showcased her organizational leadership and commitment to fostering community across campus groups.

Alongside academic leadership, she highlighted her stage presence through performance, participating annually in school talent shows throughout her educational journey—including at NYU College of Dentistry—where she shared both solo and group dance performances reflecting her cultural heritage. Her comfort on stage later contributed to her role as a speaker and presenter, and she twice appeared in New York Fashion Week as a model supporting the fashion brand of her colleague, Dr. Piyali Roy Haute Couture, further highlighting the diverse intersections of professional collaboration and cultural expression.

Originally from Uzbekistan, Dr. Malakova immigrated to New York at age five and later collaborated with her father—a fellow dentist—before relocating with her husband and children to Florida in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She continues to manage responsibilities remotely while expanding her work in consulting, education and product innovation.

Dr. Malakova remains active in supporting organizations including Feed The Children Inc., EMET Outreach, Hatzalah, Drug-Free World, Citizens Commission on Human Rights and Volunteer Ministers through charitable financial support and community engagement.
