Dr. Malakova earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry in 2010 after graduating from St. John's University in 2006. She held leadership roles at both institutions, serving as Vice President at NYU during her senior year, and President of a student association at St. John's, reflecting her commitment to leadership and organizational involvement.

Alongside academic leadership, she highlighted her stage presence through performance, participating annually in school talent showcases throughout her educational journey—including at NYU —where she shared both solo and group dance performances reflecting her cultural heritage. Originally from Uzbekistan, Dr. Malakova immigrated to New York at age five and later collaborated with her father—a fellow dentist—before relocating with her husband and children to Florida in 2022 during the Covid pandemic.
