In her current capacity, she manages between 15 and 20 contractors, including licensed mental health counselors and licensed clinical social workers, and oversees interns as they work toward full licensure.

In this role, Mrs. Porter's responsibilities encompass ensuring the satisfaction of both therapists and clients through effective communication, coordinating with administrative staff for billing and scheduling, maintaining office facilities and handling high conflict cases, such as families navigating custody issues. She also provides direct client care while balancing marketing, accounting and operational duties. Her ability to manage these multifaceted demands is a testament to her confidence, adaptability and dedication, qualities that have enabled her to transform Mandarin Counseling into an award-winning practice recognized multiple times with the Best of Jacksonville Award.

In addition to her leadership at Mandarin Counseling, Mrs. Porter has concurrently served as a licensed mental health counselor in schools, private practices, hospitals and group homes for children with special needs. Throughout her previous employment experiences, she has focused on partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for individuals with severe mental health needs, providing group, individual and family counseling and crisis intervention services.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Porter has developed recognized expertise in working with children and teens—including those with special needs like autism—and providing marriage and family counseling services. Her strong focus on these areas has contributed significantly to her reputation for excellence within the field.

Mrs. Porter's academic background laid the foundation for her achievements in mental health care. She earned a Master of Science in clinical psychology from Benedictine University in 2009 after completing a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology from Benedictine University in 2005. Her early interest in laboratory science led her to work in a lab before she shifted her focus toward psychology, a decision influenced by hands-on experiences working with children with severe autism during graduate studies. She has held full licensure as a licensed mental health counselor since 2014 and is recognized as a national certified counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Mrs. Porter attributes her success to hard work, significant personal sacrifices and unwavering family support, particularly from her husband, who has played an instrumental role during periods when professional obligations required extended absences from home. She is dedicated to her family life alongside her career pursuits and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, participating actively in church activities and ensuring her children are supported in their daily endeavors.

Beyond her professional commitments, Mrs. Porter is civically engaged as a volunteer through her church community.
