Mr. Coers has established a distinguished career in architecture and design, marked by steady progression through increasingly responsible roles and a commitment to innovation in advanced-technology manufacturing facilities. As the principal owner of AC Architecture PLLC in Mason City, Illinois, since 2024, he manages client relationships, coordinates with contractors, oversees communications and ensures the financial health of his firm. Under his leadership, the company is on track to achieve significant revenue milestones and has attracted major clients.

Before founding AC Architecture PLLC in the fall of 2024, Mr. Coers served as a Design Manager at Rivian Automotive in Normal, Illinois. In this capacity, he contributed his expertise in the design and planning of advanced technology manufacturing facilities, helping solidify his reputation as an innovative problem solver with strong technical knowledge and a process-based mindset which helped drive solutions which maximized both economy and efficiency.

Since entering the construction industry in 2012, Mr. Coers has held roles in multiple markets in both design and construction facets. These include his start as an entry level detailer for a top Pre-Engineered Metal Building Manufacturer, a construction estimator for the industry leading post frame wood building company. He has also worked for a national architecture firm where he started as a structural drafting technician and worked all the way to a licensed Architect on the staff. Additionally, Mr. Coers has also spent time working for a local general contractor as a staff architect and ultimately Design Manager for the company's Design-Build work. Outside of the traditional architectural and construction roles, Mr. Coers also has held roles which help guide aspiring architects prepare for the Architecture Registration Exams (ARE) by leading Study Workshops and ultimately as an Architect Education Specialist for Black Spectacles, an architect study prep company.

Mr. Coers's academic background has been instrumental in shaping his professional trajectory. He earned a bachelor's degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2012, the Master of Architecture degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2019, and a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024. Mr. Coers also maintains multiple professional certifications that underscore his commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance within the field. These include licensure as an architect in Texas, Utah, Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut, Missouri and Delaware. He also holds the LEED AP BD+C credential from the U.S. Green Building Council, an NCARB certification and, among other qualifications, an Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-hour certification.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Coers is civically engaged as a volunteer mentor for sophomore high school students and as a supporter of local businesses and charitable groups.

Mr. Coers takes particular pride in being a first-generation college graduate who advanced from an entry-level position as a metal buildings detailer to owning a successful architectural practice. Notably, he was offered a position at Tesla but chose to focus on building his own business. Mr. Coers's dedication to community improvement was particularly evident in his adaptive reuse of his office building, one of the original buildings in his small rural community, transforming it from a structure slated for demolition into one of Mason City's most prominent buildings.

Mr. Coers attributes his success to perseverance, creative problem-solving and a willingness to embrace challenging projects. Looking ahead, he aims to expand his company by building a team of resilient professionals who share his vision for innovation and quality service delivery. He is exploring opportunities for international projects and expanding into new states beyond those where he currently holds licensure.
