During Mr. Ghazaly's childhood, he travelled around Europe and other countries with his dad, where he developed an early interest in exploring different cultures & cuisines. At an early age, while caretakers prepared meals and cared for him & his siblings, his journey as a self-taught chef began when he assumed responsibility for preparing meals for his siblings on and off. This early experience fostered his creativity and resourcefulness, as he learned to craft delicate dishes from the limited ingredients available at home.

In his career, he spent 12 years as a mariner, following in the footsteps of his dad, his role model, a renowned captain at the time. During this time, he not only honed his discipline and adaptability but also experienced diverse cultures and cuisines, enriching his appreciation for global flavors and techniques. Laying the foundation for his tenure at sea was his academic background, inclusive of a degree in nautical engineering & computer science & IT.

Before embarking on his culinary venture, Mr. Ghazaly worked in the information technology sector, initially gaining experience with an established company before launching his own business providing corporate IT support services.

Before founding Kurrypinch, Mr. Ghazaly contributed his IT consulting expertise to Vin Di Bona Productions.

His transition into the restaurant industry was motivated by a desire to address the lack of high-quality Sri Lankan dining options in Los Angeles and to elevate the cuisine to a fine-dining experience suitable for special occasions.

Despite significant challenges, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of culinary excellence, finding pleasure and comfort in cooking. He regards his perseverance and commitment to his dream as his most meaningful achievement.

Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Ghazaly is committed to service and social responsibility. Notably, he is actively involved in philanthropic efforts supporting Sri Lankan orphanages and other charitable organizations that improve lives in Sri Lanka.
