Ms. Lewis's expertise in immigration and refugee law, staff management and operations has set her apart in the legal community. Having contributed to legal education, Ms. Lewis was a law instructor at Carleton University between 2005 and 2010 and Western University from 2011 to 2014, where she taught Immigration and Refugee Law, sharing her knowledge with future generations of legal professionals. Apart from managing her practice and lecturing, she served as the president of Two-Wheeling Women Bike Touring Company from 2013 to 2020, where she combined her passion for adventure with leadership in the Toronto area.

Ms. Lewis's academic background has been foundational to her success. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from York University in 1985, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) in 1989 and a Master of Laws in administrative law from the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 1999. Her educational experiences fostered a passion for diversity and an understanding of others' needs. These qualities have shaped her approach to both legal practice and firm management.

Apart from her professional accomplishments, Ms. Lewis's civic engagement has included serving as the president of Egale Canada Human Rights Trust since 2015, where she advances equality and inclusion and champions human rights initiatives on a national scale. She is presently working toward establishing a senior assisted living center for the LGBT community through her role at Egale. Ms. Lewis is also an accomplished author, having published "The Question of Identity" in 2013, which explores themes central to her advocacy.

In recognition of her contributions to the legal profession and advocacy for the LGBT community, Ms. Lewis received the Laura Legge Award from the Law Society of Ontario in 2020. She was also honored with the Torch Bearers Award in 2023. Among other notable successes, Ms. Lewis was the first woman to circumnavigate Prince Edward Island and earned seven medals at the Canadian National Masters Championship for Kayaking.

Born in Toronto, Ms. Lewis credits her drive and tenacity as instrumental in achieving her goals. She also remains steadfast about treating clients like family.
