Ms. Lewis is also an accomplished author, having published "The Question of Identity" in 2013, which explores themes central to her advocacy.

In recognition of her contributions to the legal profession and advocacy for the LGBT community, Ms. Lewis received the Laura Legge Award from the Law Society of Ontario in 2020. She was also honored with the Torch Bearers Award in 2023. Among other notable successes, Ms. Lewis was the first woman to circumnavigate Prince Edward Island and earned seven medals at the Canadian National Masters Championship for Kayaking.
