COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, December 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph Cheung has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Cheung has established himself as a leading expert in cybersecurity systems engineering, with a career spanning more than thirteen years and marked by significant technical achievements and leadership roles. Since 2021, as the Principal Architect at ArcLight6 Consulting, he has provided strategic roadmap guidance, ensuring that client goals align with both engineering resiliency standards and government regulations. His collaborative approach with internal teams and clients has been instrumental in the company's evolution from a modest cybersecurity service provider to a prominent engineering and consulting firm specializing in cybersecurity, network hardware engineering and software development, as well as niche projects in aerospace and aeronautics.

In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Cheung has also regularly contributed to academia as an adjunct professor of cybersecurity and data privacy at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he imparts practical knowledge to future attorneys and lawyers in the field. His leadership extends to professional organizations as the Executive Vice President of the Colorado Springs chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and previously serving as its Director of Certifications from 2023 to 2024.

He also held key positions at ENSCO Inc., including cyber lead from 2022 to 2023 and senior staff systems engineer from 2021 to 2023, where he contributed to advanced engineering solutions for government clients.

In addition to his engineering expertise, Mr. Cheung has even filled senior executive roles, namely as the Chief Information Security Officer for a financial technology based in Greenwich, Connecticut. At L3Harris Technologies Inc., he led the Cyber Assessment and Continuous Monitoring Group and was recognized with the Leadership Engineering Award for Leadership in Cybersecurity in 2020. As a senior systems security engineer from 2018 to 2020 at the same firm, he supported the Federal Aviation Administration's enterprise network and help redesign its enterprise boundary defense solution.

Mr. Cheung's experience also included serving as a senior systems engineer for WiFi Operations at Charter Communications, where he contributed to the deployment of Spectrum Mobile, a project he remains proud of for its national impact. He has also led and advised multiple organizations as a fractional Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and even Chief Executive Officer, while simultaneously contributing as an independent cybersecurity and network hardware engineer.

Mr. Cheung's early professional journey began as a contractor for the United States Air Force Academy under the U.S. Department of Defense. Most notably, when the United States Department of Defense established the United States Space Force in 2019, Mr. Cheung was approached for direct commission consideration; he became the second-ever directly commissioned officer in cybersecurity for the branch, a testament to his reputation and specialized skill set.

Mr. Cheung's influence extends beyond technical roles to being a returning speaker at industry events like the Peak Cyber Symposium and serving on the board of Earth.com. He maintains active memberships with ISC2, ISACA, AFCEA International, and ISSA.

Academically, Mr. Cheung's credentials are equally distinguished. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Space Cybersecurity at Capitol Technology University with an expected completion in 2027. Previously, he earned a Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity Engineering from Colorado Technical University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. He also holds highly sought-after certifications in his field from organizations like CompTIA, ISC2, ISACA, and EC-Council.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Cheung attributes his success to an early habit of deconstructing objects out of curiosity, an approach that fostered resilience, problem-solving skills, and meticulous documentation practices that have become hallmarks of his professional methodology. He also acknowledges the value of just consistently showing up, striving for excellence, and embracing coaching have played in his career. He believes that pushing beyond his comfort zone, rejecting complacency, and proactively seeking guidance and feedback have been essential to his professional growth and achievement. His initial interest in cybersecurity grew into a mission-driven pursuit after recognizing that tens of thousands of small to mid-sized businesses lacked adequate resources or awareness regarding their cybersecurity needs—a gap that inspired him to establish ArcLight6 Consulting.

Mr. Cheung's contributions to the industry have been recognized with several honors, such as inclusion among Southern Colorado Business Digest's "40 Under 40" honorees, receipt of the Leadership Engineering Award for leadership in cybersecurity at L3Harris Technologies Inc., and selection as a finalist for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Colorado. As an aspiring author, he is preparing a book titled "No Privilege Necessary," which contends that operational efficiency is achieved through capability rather than background or status.

Engaged in his community, Mr. Cheung's civic work includes regularly contributing as a speaker and panelist for the local ISSA chapter, helping mentor and shepherd individuals looking to enter or grow their career in cybersecurity. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, mountain biking, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, and public speaking.

Looking ahead, Mr. Cheung intends to complete and publish his book while entering the political arena to support individuals and organizations following similar paths toward executive leadership. He aims to enhance both his personal brand, having been called an Executive Engineer and Translational Leader, and organizational visibility on national and global platforms while advocating for legislation related to artificial intelligence and data privacy, a field where he has already influenced state-level policy as a contributor to the Colorado Privacy Act.
