Previously, Dr. Bhojani held senior global leadership roles at Shell and Exxon Mobil, where he oversaw enterprise-wide health strategies, employee wellness, workplace safety, and human performance optimization across multiple continents. At Shell, he pioneered the organization's Culture of Health, embedding care and prevention into every facet of the employee experience and demonstrably strengthening both human and organizational performance. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led the health and prevention response across the Americas, balancing workforce protection with business continuity during unprecedented disruption.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Bhojani served on the faculty of The Aga Khan University, completed advanced fellowship training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at The University of Texas, and served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center, State University of New York. He is widely recognized for his core belief in partnerships as a catalyst for impact and for his unique ability to ask "why"—distilling complex challenges into clear, actionable problem statements and solutions that resonate equally with technical experts, executive leaders, and general audiences. Equally notable is his dedication to mentoring and developing talent; many of those he has guided now serve in senior leadership roles across industries and geographies worldwide.
A respected leader within professional communities, Dr. Bhojani is a long-standing member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians, and holds senior leadership roles within the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, where he will soon serve as President. Fluent in English and Urdu, Dr. Bhojani brings a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and a truly global perspective to his leadership. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys purposeful travel, exploring history, philosophy, and geography—and their intersection with faith and culture—while valuing time with family and friends. A lifelong learner, he is guided by the wisdom of Rumi: "Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world; today I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Distinguished not only by professional achievement but by integrity, mentorship, and service, Dr. Bhojani's legacy lies in improving lives, strengthening systems, and empowering others.
