As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Adams has built a diverse and accomplished career, marked by leadership roles across three countries. Since 2019, he has served as a teacher with the Syracuse City School District in Syracuse, New York, where he instructs high school students in social studies, including ninth- and 10th-grade global history, 11th-grade U.S. history, and 12th-grade government and economics. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Mr. Adams supports students by offering an extended day credit learning program in African American history, by helping students pass required exit exams for graduation, and by teaching summer school. He has taken two groups of seniors to Washington, D.C., and has served as a coordinator with the Syracuse City Youth Advisory Council since 2023.
His commitment to student achievement is reflected in his efforts to prepare young people for both academic success and future careers.
Before teaching in New York, Mr. Adams taught in Japan with the Saiki City Board of Education from 2014 to 2018. There, he contributed to English language instruction and cultural exchange initiatives, further developing his pedagogical skills and cross-cultural understanding.
From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Adams excelled as the director at Global Markets Consultants, where he provided strategic consulting services to major financial institutions. His expertise was sought after by a leading national brokerage firm in Japan during this period. Following the earthquake in Japan, Mr. Adams relocated to Singapore in 2011 to join Nomura Securities as the head of the Singapore middle office. There, he managed operational functions critical to the firm's regional activities until 2012.
In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Adams was the head of market operations at IDCG, which was acquired by LCH, one of the world's largest clearing houses. Between 2004 and 2008, he established and managed operations and cash management at Sanno Point Capital Management. This entrepreneurial venture followed a nearly decade-long tenure at Deutsche Bank from 1995 to 2004, during which he achieved his most notable professional accomplishments in financial services. As the head of operations in Japan, he led a team of 100 with a $30 million budget supporting approximately $500 million in revenue. Mr. Adams subsequently became the head of client operations for Deutsche Bank Americas, managing a staff of 50 and interfacing with major clients, including investment managers and endowments.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Adams worked in derivative operations at JPMorgan from 1994 to 1995, and in customer service at Fidelity Investments after beginning as a co-op student at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy from 1988 to 1993. His transition into teaching was inspired by nearly two decades spent navigating complex roles within financial services. After leaving the industry during the economic crisis in 2012, Mr. Adams began his teaching career, instructing English in Japan, a pursuit for which he was qualified and found deeply rewarding.
Mr. Adams's extensive academic background directly informs his teaching practice. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University at Albany, which was awarded in 1993. He later completed a Master of Science in lean manufacturing at Kettering University in 2018 and a Master of Arts in teaching from New York University in 2020.

He is presently a food service volunteer at the Samaritan Center in Syracuse, NY. In the past, he has fundraised for organizations such as the Fresh Air Fund and City Harvest, and has volunteered for financial literacy initiatives at high schools throughout New York State. He also held various positions with JCCA, the Saiki City Tourism Association Volunteer initiative, and the Honjo Town Kids' Club, among other endeavors.
In recognition of his dedication to education, Mr. Adams received the Educator Award from Lincoln Middle School in 2020. He attributes his success to diverse experiences gained while working in Boston, New York City, Tokyo, and Singapore alongside colleagues from varied backgrounds.
