In 2008, he relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to capitalize on emerging tax incentives that attracted major productions such as "Breaking Bad." In 2013, after his father's retirement, Mr. Roundy returned to Utah and established a rental business for special effects equipment aimed at supporting the local film community. Although the company's initial growth was gradual, it soon became integral to both large-scale productions like "Yellowstone" and "Fallout" as well as smaller independent projects. Mr. Roundy's expertise has made him a sought-after collaborator within the industry.

Among his most significant achievements is his role as department head for "Horizon: An American Saga-Chapter 2," directed by Kevin Costner. Despite the first installment's underperformance and the second chapter's unreleased status, this project represented the largest undertaking of his career and earned him recognition from former mentors. Roundy, was an accomplished effects artist, his mother managed props and his uncle also worked in the industry—provided him with unique insights and opportunities from an early age. He further developed his craft under the mentorship of industry leaders such as Burt Dalton, Werner Hahnlein and Larry Kavanaugh and maintains collaborative ties with experts in the field.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Roundy is dedicated to supporting future generations of filmmakers. He donates financial resources, equipment and materials to student films produced by local high schools and film programs at institutions such as Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. He also mentors children in welding and CNC technology at his shop.
