Leaving a lucrative role as a business analyst at IBM, she chose to work alongside her mother for $10 an hour. At the time, the organization generated six figures annually; under her leadership, it has since grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Earlier in her career, Ms. Mayo served as a group home administrator, where she gained valuable experience in direct care management. This role reinforced her belief that effective leadership must be informed by those closest to the work.

Ms. Mayo earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and business management from Shaw University. Combined with additional professional training and decades of hands-on experience, her education has equipped her with both analytical rigor and people-centered insight.
