FORT WORTH, TX, January 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roxie Bustamante has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Recognized both locally and nationally for her expertise in media and communications, Ms. Bustamante has built a distinguished career marked by impactful storytelling, community advocacy and professional marketing campaigns. Her journey began in San Antonio, where an early visit to the KENS 5 television station at age 7 ignited her passion for journalism. Inspired by witnessing a female anchor in action, she dedicated herself to pursuing a path that would allow her to connect with others and make a meaningful difference through the power of communication.

Ms. Bustamante's subsequent professional trajectory is defined by progressive roles across journalism and public relations. In 2025, she assumed the position of media relations manager at Selph Strategies, where she helps clients expand their media exposure in both local and national publications while tracking the success of marketing efforts through key performance indicators. Utilizing the communication skills she cultivated throughout her reporting career, she also writes articles and bylines, oversees social media strategy, edits content, leads diversity, equity and inclusion panel initiatives and maintains client relationships.

Since 2022, Ms. Bustamante has also served as an account executive at PAN Communications, where she coordinates media coverage for clients in B2B Tech, HR and eCommerce sectors. The start of her tenure there marked her successful transition from reporting to public relations — a shift marked by notable achievements such as winning the Best PR Campaign Award for both media relations execution and new business acquisition in 2024, the PR Excellence Award in 2023 and multiple Employee of the Week recognitions in 2022 and 2023. She has also received internal awards acknowledging her embodiment of company culture and values.

Before embarking on her public relations path, Ms. Bustamante excelled as a journalist and reporter at Channel 13 KTRK TV in Houston. Her most notable achievement during this period was her exceptional coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic and its significant impact on local businesses and hospitals. Ms. Bustamante also led the market's coverage of major national stories, including justice for George Floyd, the Astroworld Festival tragedy, and live coverage of Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Beta. Her work demonstrated resilience and dedication to delivering accurate information to her community during uncertain times.

From 2018 to 2020, Ms. Bustamante excelled as a multimedia journalist at KENS 5 in San Antonio. During this time, she produced one of the highest ranking news stories in the history of San Antonio — a feature on Selena Quintanilla that included previously unseen footage and interviews with longtime photographers who had documented the iconic singer. This story captured a significant piece of Texas history and resonated deeply within the community.

Before joining the news station that sparked her passion for journalism and reporting, Ms. Bustamante was a morning reporter at WRIC in Richmond, Virginia, where she continued honing her skills in storytelling and live reporting for major events, including March Madness basketball games and the Richmond Marathon. Her earlier experience includes serving as a multimedia journalist at KLBK13-TV in her college town, Lubbock, Texas.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Ms. Bustamante graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 2013, followed by a master's degree in media and communication, also summa cum laude, from the same institution in 2014. Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, she began her career as a graduate assistant and executive producer for MCTV at Texas Tech and mentored undergraduate students in video editing and anchoring processes.

Throughout her career, Ms. Bustamante has been recognized for excellence in both journalism and public relations. In addition to her accolades, she earned an Emmy nomination from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences News Division in 2018.

Reflecting on her storied journey thus far, Ms. Bustamante attributes her accomplishments to her commitment to advocacy, an unwavering determination to foster relationships and the instinct to go above and beyond in every endeavor she undertakes. Though public relations presents a different pace and set of challenges from live news reporting, she takes great joy in crafting stories and helping brands ensure their unique voice reaches their target audience.

Dedicated to advancing industry standards and supporting diversity within media, Ms. Bustamante has been a member of the Hispanic Communicators of Fort Worth, the People to People Student Ambassador program, the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Press Photographers Association.

Also passionate about giving back to her community and helping those in need, Ms. Bustamante is civically engaged with organizations such as Dress for Success, Goodwill and the Salvation Army. In her personal life, she enjoys gardening, hosting family gatherings, hiking, volunteering, exploring walking trails and scuba diving.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Bustamante intends to secure a leadership role where she can continue managing impactful campaigns, mentor others and make a greater difference through storytelling. She also aspires to establish a local farmers market that supports first responders and teachers and eventually retire in Maui, Hawaii, where she can further contribute to the community while pursuing her love of gardening.

Ms. Bustamante's life and career exemplify expertise in media and communications and a passion for advocacy, meaningful relationships and storytelling, making her a respected leader as both a reporter and public relations expert.
