He completed a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida in 2010, followed by a master's degree in counseling education from the University of Central Florida in 2014. He was also named a national board-certified counselor and is a master's level certified addiction professional. Notably, Mr. Tharkur also holds an addiction counseling professional certificate, and he is a qualified counseling supervisor in Florida.

Mr. Tharkur has consistently been acknowledged for his significant contributions to the field. In 2025, he was highlighted in the Community Highlight section by Voyage Jacksonville. As President of the North Florida Safety Council, Mr. Tharkur demonstrates a strong commitment to promoting safety, preventing drunk driving, and supporting community well-being.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Tharkur remains dedicated to civic engagement through volunteer work and pro bono counseling within the local community.
