Prior to that, he spent nearly 5 years as a customer solutions architect at CCI Systems Inc., where he specialized in network automation. His transition into automation-focused roles was a natural progression from his earlier engineering work, allowing him to blend deep networking fundamentals with emerging automation frameworks. In 2018, he also served as a senior systems engineer at CCI Systems, providing technical leadership on complex engineering initiatives and supporting the integration of new technologies across customer environments.

From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Saur worked as a network engineer at Midcontinent Communications, where he truly started to bring the power of network automation to life and contributed to the reliability and scalability of the organization's business communications infrastructure. Between 2010 and 2014, he held dual roles as network engineer II and team lead at SDN Communications, overseeing critical network services while mentoring other engineers. These years formed the foundation of his technical expertise, giving him firsthand experience with the operational challenges that later developed his automation-driven approach.

After several years in general IT roles, Mr. Saur began his career as a data systems engineer at Inter-Tel Datanet from 2004 to 2007 and later served as a network engineer at Midcontinent Communications from 2007 to 2010 in their business engineering group. These early roles provided him with extensive exposure to enterprise and service provider environments, shaping the practical, operations-minded perspective that continues to guide his work in automation architecture today.

His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in e-business and information technology from Bellevue University in 2003. He has continued to expand his skillset through ongoing professional development, most recently earning the Generative AI: Prompt Engineering Basics certification from IBMI in 2025—reflecting his interest in the intersection of AI and network automation.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Saur credits his success to an enduring drive for self-improvement, a mindset rooted in his formative years as a high school wrestler. The discipline and resilience developed during that time, later reinforced by nine years of Taekwondo training, have shaped his approach to learning, leadership, and navigating technological change. He is also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers, viewing knowledge-sharing as a vital part of his professional legacy.

Outside of his career, Mr. Saur volunteers with Meals on Wheels and enjoys MMA, music, traveling, hiking, and camping. Looking ahead, he plans to continue moving toward a digital nomad lifestyle, exploring new cultures while continuing his work in pre-sales technical roles. He aims to deepen his wide range of technical skills and embrace the use of AI in network automation.
