Mr. Brown has served as president, chief executive officer, owner and principal broker of City2Shore Real Estate Gateway Group in Allendale, Michigan, since 2021. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in building three business locations with 50+ realtors within five years. As principal broker, he oversees agent recruitment and training, mentors realtors, casts vision for company growth and direction, ensures alignment with strategic goals, manages finances alongside his wife, hires and supervises managing brokers for additional locations, maintains company culture and agent engagement and encourages realtors to give back through community volunteerism.

Mr. Brown has also held the position of licensed real estate professional with City2Shore Real Estate in Hudsonville, Michigan, since 2015. His expertise in recruiting and mentoring agents has contributed significantly to the franchises expansion and reputation for excellence. From 2009 to 2017, he served as trustee on the Jenison Public Schools Board of Education. During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping educational policies and supporting the local school community.

Throughout his career, Mr. Brown has been recognized for his expertise in real estate franchise ownership and leadership development. He is a member of several industry organizations, including the Greater Regional Alliance of REALTORS, the National Association of Realtors, the Board of Education, chair of the Multiple Listing Service Policy Committee for the Greater Regional Alliance of Realtors, the Government Affairs Committee for the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of Realtors and the township planning commission.

Mr. Brown's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in history and English literature from Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, New York, earned in 1991. This educational foundation has supported his analytical thinking and communication skills throughout his professional journey. He also holds certification as a Michigan licensed real estate agent through the United Latino Students Association.

After graduating from college, Mr. Brown served six years in the United States Army and Army Reserve as a commissioned officer before transitioning to civilian life. He began his professional career selling Honda vehicles before moving into school bus sales for approximately five years. Following a layoff due to downsizing at his employer after it lost its state contract with New York, he joined Caterpillar, a major motor company, and relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan. He found Real Estate in 2015 and spent 6 years training and mentoring agents before purchasing franchise rights from City2Shore Real Estate for three locations. He then founded Gateway Group with eight producing realtors who chose to follow his leadership.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Brown is deeply involved in civic organizations. He serves as chairman of the board for Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ), participates with Rotary International and Walking by Faith.

His accomplishments have been recognized with several awards, including Franchise of the Year from City2Shore Real Estate for 2024 to 2025; Top Workplaces in Michigan by USA Today Detroit Free Press for small businesses under 150 employees for both 2024 and 2025; and the Distinguished Leadership Award from City2Shore Real Estate in 2024. He attributes much of his success to studying renowned leaders such as John Maxwell and focusing on leadership development principles. Mr. Brown believes that legacy is built through effective leadership that inspires followers rather than focusing solely on sales metrics. He prioritizes cultivating a strong company culture by removing self-focused individuals who may negatively impact team dynamics.

Born in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York and raised near Buffalo, Mr. Brown considers his greatest achievement to be maintaining a strong marriage over more than three decades while raising three successful sons. In addition to spending time with family, he enjoys playing golf, taking annual vacations and following the Buffalo Bills. Looking ahead, he plans to expand Gateway Group by adding more physical locations and increasing the number of producing realtors while ensuring each office is led by individuals committed to personal growth, community engagement and upholding company values.
