From 2010 to 2016, he worked as both a program manager and safety instructor at Safety Connections, where he focused on workplace safety courses, staff management and business development.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Paterson pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Management from University of Lethbridge in 2004 and a business diploma in marketing from Lethbridge Polytechnic in 2002.
