Additionally, Mr. Brieser conducts department-led and all-staff meetings, ensuring the hospital maintains operational stability and high-quality care. Having worked as a physical therapist since 2012, he also performs clinical duties when needed — including serving as a physical therapist — and represents Hammond-Henry at public speaking engagements.

Prior to assuming his role as CEO, Mr. Brieser was vice president of operations at Hammond-Henry Hospital from 2023 to 2025. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in operational oversight, optimizing resource allocation and supporting the hospital's mission to deliver accessible health care services to individuals and families throughout the region.

Also serving as director of outpatient services at Hammond-Henry from 2022 to 2023, Mr. Brieser was pivotal in expanding outpatient offerings and enhancing patient care delivery across service lines such as nutrition, imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, and pharmacy. His leadership contributed to improved patient outcomes and increased community engagement with numerous hospital programs.

From 2019 to 2022, Mr. Brieser held the position of long-term care manager at Hammond-Henry Hospital. Overseeing a team of nurses, nursing aides, and activities personnel, he ensured compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a compassionate environment for residents. His commitment to quality care and ability to foster personalized relationships with patients and their families strengthened the hospital's reputation as a trusted provider for long-term health needs.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to rural health care, Mr. Brieser was honored with the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network "4 Under 40" Award from the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network in 2024. Hailing from an equally robust academic background, Mr. Brieser earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in 2020, equipping him with advanced skills in organizational management and strategic planning. Eight years prior, he completed a doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis, which provided him with deep clinical knowledge essential for effective leadership in hospital settings.

Mr. Brieser's entry into the health care profession was inspired during his undergraduate studies at Augustana College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in biology in 2009. After completing his doctoral studies at Washington University, he returned to Hammond-Henry Hospital — where he had previously received scholarship support — with a steadfast commitment to serving the community that shaped him.

Known for his dedication to service beyond the workplace as well, Mr. Brieser is civically engaged through active involvement with organizations such as Kiwanis Club and Rotary International.
Born in Mineral, Illinois, and raised on a farm before relocating to Atkinson at age 5, Mr. Brieser's upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work and community connection. He comes from an extensive family network that is deeply rooted in west central Illinois; both sides of his family are large and closely knit, providing him with enduring support throughout his life and career. His grandmother, Doris, and mother, Anita, have been particularly influential pillars of encouragement.
