Ms. DePriest has established herself as a professional in the field of exercise for chronic conditions, currently serving as the assistant education director at the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In this role, which she has held since 2023, she is dedicated to working with older adults, teaching exercise classes and conducting workshops for dementia care. Her commitment extends to educating first responders and collaborating with firefighters, reflecting her passion for community service and health education.

Prior to her current position, Ms. DePriest was a medical assistant and exercise physiologist at Affinity Health Plan from 2020 to 2023. During this time, she honed her skills in patient care and health coaching, which were further developed during her tenure as an exercise health coach at Centene Corporation from 2015 to 2019. Her expertise in clinical science and wellness was also evident during her time as the director of clinical science and wellness at the Phase IV Scientific Health & Performance Center from 2014 to 2015.

Ms. DePriest's career began with roles that laid a strong foundation for her future achievements. She served as a clinical exercise physiologist and medical science liaison at Met-Test LLC from 2014 to 2015, where she applied her knowledge of exercise physiology to support patient health. Her earlier experience includes working as an exercise specialist at Sacred Heart Health System from 2012 to 2014, where she was involved in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Additionally, she contributed as an EECP technician at Sacred Heart Medical Center-Sacred Heart Cardiology during the same period.

Ms. DePriest's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education/fitness from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 1992, followed by a Master of Science in exercise science from the same institution in 2004. Although she pursued coursework toward a Doctor of Philosophy in health care administration, she chose not to complete it due to her passion for direct interaction with people and her responsibilities at the time. Her certifications include advanced cardiovascular life support from National Health Care Provider Solutions, cardiopulmonary resuscitation/automated external defibrillator certification from the American Heart Association, certified study instructor, certified educator and certified Alzheimer educator.

Ms. DePriest's dedication extends beyond her professional roles; she has been actively involved with several industry-related organizations, such as the American College of Sports Medicine since 2004, the Union County of Arkansas Tech Coalition, the International External Counterpulsation Association and the American Council on Exercise. Her civic contributions include volunteering for the Special Olympics and Senior Olympics between 1990 and 1992.

In her personal life, Ms. DePriest attributes much of her success to the values instilled by her father and family members, particularly her daughter. Her motivation to enter the field was driven by personal experiences with heart disease within her family, inspiring her to pursue preventive measures against such conditions. Looking ahead, she aims to continue contributing to the growth of her organization while enhancing the well-being of those she serves.
