In this capacity, she has demonstrated expertise in community outreach and library services, working extensively on bookmobiles and with TSCPL@Home to deliver materials directly to residents throughout Shawnee County. Her responsibilities include facilitating access to resources for individuals unable to visit the library in person, providing research assistance and supporting the bookmobile service. Through her work with the bookmobile program, Ms. Siemers has collaborated closely with library administration to identify new locations, develop effective schedules and ensure equitable service distribution across the community. This initiative stands as one of her most significant professional achievements, reflecting her commitment to expanding library access and fostering inclusivity.

Throughout her tenure at the TSCPL, Ms. Siemers has been recognized for her leadership and professional development. She was selected for the Leadership Greater Topeka Class of 2025, where she worked with other community leaders on adaptive leadership training, interactive experiences, and hands-on projects. She was selected for the inaugural TSCPL Emerging Library Leaders Program, an honor that underscores her dedication to advancing library services and mentoring future professionals. Additionally, she served as a certified CDL trainer for the library for four years, further demonstrating her versatility and commitment to staff development.

Before joining TSCPL, Ms. Siemers gained foundational experience as a student employee at the University of Kansas Libraries. Over several years, she contributed to various academic library operations while pursuing her undergraduate studies. This early exposure provided Ms. Siemers with valuable insight into academic librarianship and laid the groundwork for a career spanning more than 20 years in the field.

Ms. Siemers's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, which provided a strong foundation in pedagogy and educational outreach. Subsequently, she earned a master's degree in library and information science from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. This advanced degree equipped Ms. Siemers with specialized knowledge that has been instrumental in her success as a community services librarian. In addition to her academic credentials, she earned certification as a CDL trainer in 2022, enabling her to contribute to staff training initiatives within the library system.

An active member of several professional organizations that reflect her passion for librarianship and education, Ms. Siemers is affiliated with the American Library Association. She is also a life member of Beta Phi Mu, the International Library and Information Studies Honor Society, and an alumna of Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Band Sorority.
