KNOXVILLE, TN, January 27, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jared W. Floyd has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A steadfast commitment to engineering excellence, leadership and service marks Mr. Floyd's professional journey. Since January 2025, he has served as a project engineer at Amentum, a government contractor specializing in environmental cleanup and the deactivation and demolition of nuclear facilities within the Department of Energy complex. In this capacity, Mr. Floyd acts as the lead engineer on several projects, serving as the primary point of contact for technical input and field execution. His responsibilities include scheduling, collaborating directly with project managers, assembling technical teams to brainstorm and implement solutions, writing scopes of work and managing specialized vendors. His role demands advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to unite technical experts to address complex challenges.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Floyd began as a field engineer at Amentum in 2020 and has been part of projects with the Department of Energy at Oak Ridge National Lab in Y-12 Security Site in Tennessee and the Nevada National Security Site in Nevada. In these roles, he gained hands-on experience in executing technical work in the field, supporting project management activities and ensuring that environmental remediation efforts met rigorous safety and quality standards. His expertise in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams contributed significantly to the successful completion of critical projects.

Before joining Amentum, Mr. Floyd built a foundation in research as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Tennessee from 2017 to 2020. During this period, he developed analytical skills and a deep understanding of materials science that would later inform his engineering career. Earlier professional experiences include serving as a security officer at Charlotte Motor Speedway from 2015 to 2016, where he was responsible for maintaining safety protocols during large-scale events, and working as a machine operator at Carter Machine from 2015 to 2016. He also held the position of automated surface grinder operator at American EDM and Tool from 2014 to 2015, where he refined his technical abilities in precision manufacturing environments.

A significant chapter in Mr. Floyd's career began with his enlistment in the United States Air Force immediately after graduating from high school. From 2005 to 2014, he was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant specializing in aerospace structural maintenance. His duties encompassed all metal-related aspects of aircraft maintenance, including repair, fabrication and painting. Notably, while deployed overseas, Mr. Floyd led efforts to repair an aircraft damaged by an explosive device, completing the task ahead of schedule and demonstrating exceptional technical acumen under pressure.

Mr. Floyd's educational achievements have been instrumental in shaping his professional trajectory. He earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2025, a milestone he regards as his most significant accomplishment and one that distinguishes him as the first in his family to attain a master's degree. He previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2020. These academic credentials provided him with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for leadership roles in engineering.

His commitment to continuous improvement is further evidenced by multiple industry certifications: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Six Sigma Global Institute (2023), construction quality management for contractors from the United States Army Corps of Engineers (2022), Engineer in Training certification from the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (2021), safety trained supervisor construction from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (2020) and Project Management Professional certification from Project Management Institute (2022). These qualifications have enhanced his capabilities in process optimization, safety oversight and project leadership.

Mr. Floyd's professional affiliations include membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Project Management Institute. He is also active within the strongman community, reflecting his dedication to personal fitness and competitive spirit.

Beyond his career achievements, Mr. Floyd is civically engaged through volunteering efforts and participation in environmental activities focused on cleanup initiatives. His contributions have been recognized through several honors, including nomination to attend the Leadership Development Center and Learn, Innovate, Focus and Thrive classes in 2025, receipt of the Air Force Achievement Medal in 2011, Airman Leadership School Graduate in 2010 and additional meritorious awards.

Born in Concord, North Carolina, Mr. Floyd enjoys fitness pursuits such as golf and strongman competitions outside his professional life. He continues to pursue new goals, including obtaining his Professional Engineering license while striving for daily improvement in his craft.

Throughout his journey, Mr. Floyd attributes his success to persistence and an unwavering refusal to quit. These qualities have enabled him to overcome obstacles and excel across diverse fields within engineering and public service.
