SAN DIEGO, CA, January 29, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ciro D. Martinez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Martinez was born in Mexicali, Mexico, where he spent more than 16 years in the home his grandfather built. His formative years were marked by a strong family influence, with his parents instilling the values of hard work and perseverance. He credits his parents for providing him with the significant benefit of United States citizenship, which he believes has been instrumental in opening doors for business, education and professional development. His grandfather, Capt. Ciro Martinez served as a World War II veteran pilot, inspiring a legacy of achievement and resilience within the family. Language acquisition was prioritized from an early age, with Mr. Martinez, his father and younger brother becoming fluent in English through immersion in educational programming and media.
Mr. Martinez's career in logistics and supply chain management began before completing his academic studies. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management with a focus in international business from CETYS Universidad in Mexicali, Mexico, in 2019. He furthered his expertise by completing a specialty course in business and managerial economics at IPADE Business School in 2020. These academic achievements provided a foundation for his understanding of international commerce and operational strategy, which have been critical to his professional success.
His initial exposure to logistics came during his tenure as a materials specialist intern at Imperial Irrigation District from 2016 to 2017. In this role, Mr. Martinez assisted the materials department with a specialized project focused on locating and documenting field assets and integrating them into SAP, providing firm insight into the current state and location of thousands of pieces of equipment.
In 2017, Mr. Martinez joined AgData Global, LLC as a logistics specialist. Over the course of one year, he managed end-to-end logistics operations for an agricultural company involved in exports. His responsibilities included overseeing shipment coverage, coordinating loading processes and managing export documentation for both produce and equipment. The company's cross-border operations required him to navigate complex temporary importation processes for seasonal produce, further developing his expertise in customs procedures. He managed truck arrivals, booked shipments, prepared documentation and ensured timely delivery to customers. When the logistics manager was promoted outside the department, Mr. Martinez assumed responsibility for all import and export operations. This experience deepened his involvement with customs operations and sparked a lasting interest in logistics.
From 2018 to 2021, Mr. Martinez served as business development manager at R&E Customs Brokers. In this capacity, he supported high-volume freight movement and truck booking for major clients, including brokering shipments for the largest meat importer in Latin America. This role provided valuable experience in sales and client relationship management while reinforcing his commitment to operational excellence.
Since 2021, Mr. Martinez has held the position of Director of Supply Chain Management at his company Xakes Solutions, named after the tail number of his grandfather's airplane. At Xakes Solutions, he oversees business operations, providing a wide variety of logistics solutions for American and Mexican companies.
Xakes Solutions operates as a full-service logistics firm, providing transportation services as an asset-based logistics firm. The company plays an active role in transporting thousands of shipments across a wide range of industries. As of 2025, Xakes Solutions manages approximately 85 operations daily, of which about 80 percent are cross-border. The company averages around 1,700 shipments per month, encompassing transportation management, customs coordination, and cross-border logistics.
In his personal life, he places great importance on making his parents proud—his father being one of his first clients—and credits both parents, along with his fiancée, for their significant roles in his personal and professional success.
Throughout his journey, Mr. Martinez has embraced risk as an inherent part of life and business, believing that setbacks provide essential lessons for growth. He attributes much of his success to learning from mistakes while striving not to repeat them. His sustained hard work, perseverance, and willingness to move beyond his comfort zone have enabled him to achieve milestones uncommon among peers at similar stages of their careers.
