OMAHA, NE, February 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kara Leigh Roncin, MD, pathologist with CHI Health, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the December 2025/January 2026 Omaha, Nebraska, regional issue of Forbes magazine.

Drawing upon nearly 10 years of professional expertise, Dr. Roncin has demonstrated both compassion and diligence in her approach to pathology. As a pathologist at CHI Health, part of CommonSpirit Health, since 2023, Dr. Roncin specializes in breast pathology and is a member of a robust practice, where her role involves handling specimens for microscopic analysis, performing medical autopsies and devising detailed pathology reports. She is currently an assistant professor at the Creighton University School of Medicine, where she has taught since 2023. Her teaching duties include participation in the combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency program, mentoring students and engaging them in case-based learning modules and original research.

Dr. Roncin has served in numerous leadership roles during her tenure with CHI Health. She is chairperson of the Commission on Cancer/Network Cancer Committee and pathology lead for the Network Cancer Committee and the Breast Health Professional Advisory Board. In addition, she is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, and the International Society of Breast Pathology. Moreover, Dr. Roncin has served on the Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma Biomarker Testing Learning Collaborative with the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

The recipient of dual board certifications in anatomic and clinical pathology from the American Board of Pathology, Dr. Roncin initially completed her medical education in 2016. Following the receipt of her Doctor of Medicine, she completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in selective pathology, focusing on breast pathology. After returning to her native Canada in 2021, Dr. Roncin underwent a clinical fellowship in surgical pathology with the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Dr. Roncin attributes her success to the values of resilience and perseverance instilled in her by her parents at a formative age. Emphasizing that the path to success is often the road less traveled, she envisioned working in the medical industry since she was a child. Looking ahead, Dr. Roncin aims to pursue a master's degree to bolster her passion for continual learning and teaching.

EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS
Possessing a strong academic background, Dr. Roncin holds a Bachelor of Science in anatomy and cell biology, with honors, from the University of Saskatchewan. She subsequently received a Bachelor of Science in health science and a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of the Americas in 2013 and 2016, respectively.

Accepting several accolades in light of her prowess in pathology and academia, Dr. Roncin was recently named the Top Surgical and Clinical Pathologist of the Year and received an Empowered Woman Award from the IAOTP in 2025.
