CENTENNIAL, CO, February 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mike Severson, CPA, owner of MJS Tax and Consulting PLLC, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the December 2025/January 2026 Denver, Colorado, regional issue of Forbes magazine.

Across nearly 20 years, Mr. Severson has established himself as a reliable figure in the accounting sphere. Passionate about math from a young age, he initially pursued engineering before discovering a love for business and accounting. His first position in his profession was as a senior accountant with Giddings & Associates Ltd, beginning in 2007. Though surprised at how much he enjoyed this direction, he went on to become an expert in taxes, working as a tax specialist with AgCountry Farm Credit Services, a controller with Sinner Bros & Bresnahan, an accountant with Busek Olson & Associates, and a tax manager with Spicer Jeffries LLP.

Building on his success, Mr. Severson opened his own company, MJS Tax and Consulting PLLC, in 2021. He guides the overall direction of the organization while also working with clients on a one-on-one basis. Where many accounting firms have a generic setup that they attempt to apply to all scenarios, Mr. Severson believes in crafting more personalized approaches based on the needs of each client.

Mr. Severson has further demonstrated his commitment to his field through association with pertinent industry-related organizations. Most notably, he maintains membership with the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. He credits his accomplishments to his high degree of communication and preference for building genuine friendships with his clients.

Looking to the future, Mr. Severson plans to expand MJS Tax and Consulting, with the goal of hiring additional staff and exploring new revenue sources, such as attestation and auditing. As he grows the company and implements additional automation, he hopes to become more selective about which jobs he takes. Mr. Severson is also eager to dedicate more time to tax mitigation and long-term tax planning for his clients, helping them find greater financial stability. He looks forward to assisting business owners in succession and transition strategies.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Mr. Severson's performance in accounting has been supported by his education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from North Dakota State University in 2009. In 2013, he was certified as a public accountant by the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy.

DEDICATION TO FAMILY
Beyond his primary vocation, Mr. Severson is a devoted husband to his wife, Leah and a loving father to two sons. He finds great satisfaction hunting birds, fly-fishing and practicing judo, which he also coaches. He has eagerly supported his children in judo as well, including joining his youngest son in attending a major international tournament in Florida.
